Thanks for this video Josh! I’m happy you found relief. I have really severe CCI. My own experience has let me form the opinion that AO and nucca are not safe for all cases of CCI. For me I was in hospital from four AOs. They made me worse and I’m still not recovered. Dystonia, started, moved my jaw bones etc. I only go to one AO who saved my life! No one will ever touch my neck again. He is so precise and so so gentle and accurate. For me that was vital!

Thanks for sharing. Your story sounds just like my journey with CCI. I injured my neck 18 months ago & have seen over 20 different docs & specialist. I just had a DMX which finally confirmed my CCI. Im scheduled for PICL at Centeno Shultz in CO in a few wks. Like you, its been a long journey but atleast finally getting a confirmed diagnosis thanks to youtube & Dr Google! Lol. Good luck with your journey. Keep us posted on your improvements.

My husband ist going to have the PICL done in about 3 weeks at Dr. Centenos place. After that he will get adjustments done by Dr. Katz (he also does the DMX) - we come from Germany and we really hope that he will recover soon. How do you feel right now? Did you still have any symptoms ?

Was just wondering how your prolo treatments went at Caring medical from Dr. Hauser. Were they painful? How many treatments did you get before you felt better? Have you regressed at all since treatment? I'm considering getting evaluated by caring med but it's very expensive. Were you able to submit treatment to your insurance? Lastly, would you recommend caring medical from your own experience?

Interesting video. I have been getting upper cervical chiropractic adjustments for the last 3 months using the “Blair technique.” I have mixed feelings, because in the beginning I got worse for about 2 months, ended up in the emergency room 4 times. However, I’ve been better in the last month. Not symptom free, but I haven’t had a major crisis which is a relief. I haven’t gotten prolotherapy though so I don’t know how good it would be in conjunction.

Much like everything in this world- not all chiropractors are created equal. Find a good one don’t let them do harsh adjustments. If your chiropractor is using more than three fingers to adjust your neck, somethings wrong. Run.

@@theprolopatient The adjustment looked pretty much the same as it did in your video. I believe that’s called the “Blair upper cervical technique” or something or like that. It’s very gentle but it’s been up and down for me.

I think of a lot of it boils down to how hypermobile you are in the condition of your muscles. If your muscles are guarding, and really stiff and adjustment can temporarily aggravate the vagus nerve and you may have a spike and symptoms. But for me, it’s the same thing with prolo I got a spike in my symptoms then after I heal for a week it’s a small percent better than before. Definitely an up-and-down game with CCI

My UCC saved my life! And Dr Hauser did too bc it was from all his research I found on the vagus nerve (after getting worse and worse by not being taken seriously by Drs) that I decided to try the upper cervical chiropractor my friend had told me about. From what I had learned on Caring Medical's website I was sure I had upper cervical instability, and also learned - like you guys brought out in the video - that atlas misalignment and instability have basically all the same symptoms and the 2 kinda go hand-in-hand. It was a roller coaster in my symptoms for the first 2 to 3 months of getting adjusted but I knew it was working bc some things like my spasms and digestion improved almost immediately and in the 3 months like she had told me I was significantly better but still struggling that's when I went to Hauser, got the tests they do in the office and he sent me home to get 2 MRIs and a ct venogram which none of the neurologists I had seen would order 😡😡 so literally had to end up paying out of pocket for them and didn't get back to Caring Medical till last November, 8 months after my instability diagnosis

Hi Josh, do you find the adjustments hold? I have been seeing an upper cervical chiro here in Australia for 8 months now and my adjustments never hold more than a couple of days. I haven’t had prolotherapy yet though. I am looking into this.

Hello, great question! Yes my adjustments hold for much longer now. Before prolotherapy my adjustment’s only lasted for a few hours in fact often I’d go out of adjustment in the parking lot leaving my chiropractor appointment. Now my adjustments hold for weeks. And the more I build back muscle, connective tissue and tighten the ligaments and tendons I expect my adjustments to last months at a time. Thanks for your question and thank you for watching!

@@theprolopatient Thank you so much for replying ☺️. That is good to know. My adjustments often don’t hold from my appointment to arriving home 45 mins later 🥲. I am looking into prolotherapy in Brisbane, Australia. We don’t have access to the PICL here but it looks like you have made heaps of progress without that. I am so glad you are doing a lot better. Are you doing any specific exercises to help with stability as well? Thank you for sharing your journey. Bless you! ✝️

EDS patients are warned that chiropractic adjustments are risky bc we injure easily due to hyper-mobility. I once had a chiropractor worsen my lumbar pain. I have fellow EDSers that were also injured by their chiropractors. This route is not safe for everyone.
@theprolopatient

That’s exactly why you have to be very specific when choosing a chiropractor. You must choose one that does The Blair technique! It is a specialized chiropractic method that focuses on correcting misalignments in the upper cervical spine. This technique uses precise imaging to account for unique differences in each individual's cervical spine anatomy. When you bowl it down the misalignment is what is causing pain and symptoms, that’s why the RIGHT chiropractic care is so important to your health. It’s truly life changing.

@@theprolopatient I'm glad it worked for you, but unfortunately there aren't many physicians truly knowledgeable on EDS just yet. The EDS Society advises against it due to the potential increased risk of arterial dissection, stroke, cerebrospinal fluid leaks associated with the disorder. Also, adjustments tend not to keep with many EDS patients as our ligaments are too laxed to hold the joint in place after realignment. I do appreciate your videos though. I did learn that there are Blair exercises, so I plan on trying those. Thanks for the videos!! -Brand new follower.
