Upper Rocky River Kayaking // Cape Fear Tributary

I am joined by Steve an Adam for an exploratory run of the Upper Rocky River. This Cape Fear Tributary is hard to catch due to how quickly the water drops out of the watershed. Unfortunately, Steve broke his kayak on the Kraken Rock. A quick riverside repair gets us back on the water. Come along for a look at the Upper Rocky!

I love watching your river running. I decide for myself what line I might take and the see what you chose. We have such a short river season where I live, that I try to get a lot of learning done via KZbin. Watching now high you cross the eddy line to eddy out is really interesting. Kind of explains why I miss it half the time lol

Great little run! Did this section in Mickey, the red Dagger Katana. At the end when you said “this is it!”, it had got dark on me. The moon was out, I could see the white caps on the waves. It was nerve racking but fun, if that’s possible 😂

for sure! we didnt mess with it out there, but he took it home, drilled the ends of the crack to stop the progress of the crack, got it welded and then also taped the inside. In the event the weld pops, the inside tape will keep the boat dry.
