Hi Ben. I'm doing a small section southbound next week and your videos have been excellent prep for me. Not a lot of talking but what you do say is definitely worth listening to. Thank you for taking the time to make and post these videos. I hope there is more to come from another adventure.

Thanks Steve. I'm meant to be on it again atm, but pulled out last week because of the weather. Aiming to get back on Friday. What part are you doing ?

Thanks Ben. I have Enjoyed your hike of the Aawt. I’m Doing it this October, been on my bucket list for quite a few years now. KZbinr Yannick Muller recently did the Aawt with his mates and mentions your name. Looks like you are becoming a legend. Thanks again. Cheers.
@anothertravelflog2 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks Jimmy , legend is a far stretch, a lot more people have watched it than I thought however. I'm half thinking about doing it in October also, we'll see how the year turns out...

Sensational mate, well done - I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all 3 parts of your hike. I’m planning to run the AAWT in November and am only familiar with the trail from Kozzy northwards so this was the next best thing other than an actual course reccy. Glad I know what to expect now in that first 200ks so it doesn’t smash me mentally. Cannot wait to get out there and follow in your steps. Thanks so much and well done again Ben
@anothertravelflog3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matt. Glad it was of some use, there's only a few aawt vids out there, I watched them all about 5 times before I left! Good luck with the walk, wish I could do it again, maybe next year if we're out of prison...

Fantastic effort, Ben. Immensely enjoyed your three part series, especially your witty commentary. The brumby problem in KNP needs to be addressed immediately.

Great vids, thank you. The last part is dispiriting for sure. I think if I did it I would go North South and start just north of Jagungal

No worries. Yeah think I had a down day after jagungal coming into the new burnt areas. Was ok again after that

Hey Ben. I'm currently planning my AAWT hike in March 2023 and stumbled across your channel. I've watched all three vids and found them useful in my preparations. I was hoping you could give me some first hand information. What rating was your sleeping bag and was it enough. Did you note the min/max temp on your journey? Your tent seemed to have a larger vistabule which I like for wet weaterh days, what was your tent?. THanks in advance and keep on keepin' on! Jason
@anothertravelflog2 жыл бұрын
G'day Jason. My sleeping bag was 0 Celcius, with a silk liner. Marmot hydrogen. It was just ok, but got a bit fresh one night when it was around minus 3. I only had 3 frosts for memory. I've got 20degree farenheit EE quilt now, it's definitely warmer. Max temp...don't remember anything uncomfortable, think down low it was 30 a few times but nothing like that up higher where I was. My tent was the Dan Durston X mid 1, worked well on aawt . I'm currently in Arizona in the desert and it's blown over twice here at night, but hard to escape the exposed wind here.

@@anothertravelflog Hey Ben, Thanks for the info. I had another question that I cant find the answer too. How did you recharge your backup power bank or did you juts have a new one in the caches to swap out? thanks, Jason

Hi Ben! Thanks for the great vid. Great effort. If you wouldnt mind, I have a few questions for you. 1. How many kms did you have to walk from the Main Range to Tharwa. 2. How was the track and navigation... relatively easy? Was there plenty of signage 3. Did you find that March and April was good conditions? 4. How many days did this section take you?
@anothertravelflog3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Laura. Off the top of my head , Thredbo to Tharwa was roughly 220kms. Track was simple in most parts, a little tricky over the rolling ground as no distinct path. Otherwise it was pretty straightforward. Conditions were good, plenty of rain during my walk so water was never an issue. Never to hot/cold, but you never know what you'll get up there. Took me 6.5 days that final section. Any other questions just shoot

Hey Ben... Wondering where you stayed at Thredbo? Will be hitting the village late October and had planned to stay at YHA but have discovered it's closed for all of October :( Would appreciate your input.
@anothertravelflog3 жыл бұрын
G'day Caz . Yep YHA unfortunately so can't offer you an alternative. I've seen people say the denman was walker friendly in the past . How's preparations going? I haven't completely ruled out doing half of it again in Dec/Jan. See how the next few months pan out...
@MsBadd0g3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. Think we'll look at the Alpine Hotel as an alternative. Prep going well. Put 2 drops in at Rumpff and Mac Springs before the roads closed (just made it before being locked down too! LOL). They should be snug under a nice blanket of snow now :) All others with road access will go in over September. Training with full pack weight for a while now so hoping to be fit enough to tackle the Vic end without too much hassle.
