A massive thank you to commenters who alerted me to better ways of doing Fourfold!
This guide shows both map-relative and boss-relative ways of doing Fourfold spreads. It also shows the 'diamond' approach to keeping uptime when the safe spots are on the same side, as well as the riskier way for tanks to keep uptime when the safe spot is in the corners.

I think you're the only guide maker that will release follow-up videos with better strats than your original. All the others I've seen just pretend other strategies don't exist.

This is what I've been running into with snakes/gorgon 2. People are very adamant about spriggan, but it's too restrictive and has more room for error. I wish there was someone with a strong voice to share Colors strat: it's kinda "limit cut" like. There's more movement but spriggan's lack of movement is what makes it inferior and more likely to fail. Xeno made a guide, but his is more commentary + gameplay, while hector's is more structured using diagrams/graphics. Dodge snake gazes (this will be poison marker), poison stays while gaze moves to the snake and then you swap places. Each color has a cardinal and intercardinal. Poison completely away from snake and its better gcd uptime. This removes unnecessary prep steps and your color partners are consistent through 99% of the fight (melee uptime in 4fold and dog2) Like people legitimately think you have to move cw for spriggan to work when you can use color buddies too. People don't understand spriggan at all.

@@delsingray5923 You see, I feel the stand still strategy is better. If you're positioned correctly (which isn't hard to do at all) then there is no room for error. Colour pairs is fine and I will do it but in my experience, PF fails at that way more. Usually the people gazing 1st not moving afterwards causing their puddle to kill the snake (and damage their partner). What does confuse me though is why so many people seem to think that colour pairs is more uptime than fixed positions. It's exactly the same.

@@TheBorzoi it's not better. In fact, because you stand still, it makes it worse. The movement is not what gives downtime. It's the GAZE that takes your uptime. You're still moving regardless and you have to be very specific with movement (slow) with spriggan, while colors you move the same way as SNAKE 1 (but with smaller area). Colors is S1 but with a FIXED COLOR and you DONT poison the snake with a "limit cut" swap. If you're standing still even in spriggan, you griefing. You should be more (centered) in the hitbox with your poison. Colors gives you more control with your gaze, you don't have to strain and try to find tiny masks (which is harder) bc you have the markers instead and you're LESS LIKELY to poison a snake. Most like spriggan bc it's the first they heard about and they think not moving = uptime. Uptime is about GCD. You are still moving with the gaze, there is no "I have more uptime bc I'm static". Learn to slidecast, use an instant attack, and use swiftcast. If you aren't doing this anyway, you're wrong. You still get that if you're poison first. You still have to move if you're gaze first. This argument people make DOESNT EXIST. Week 1 raiders who cleared did not do spriggan, they did COLORS. You really think they would've done colors and cleared if it was downtime? Seriously ask that. Spriggan is bad. Being restricted is not good. Both strats make you move bc the MECHANIC REQUIRES IT because the gaze is what takes your uptime, not moving as you're moving for the gaze anyway

Thank you so much for making these. The way you explain things just somehow "clicks" with me almost instantly compared to what other guidemakers' videos do.

Great mini-guide as always! Worth noting that, when two adjacent corners are safe, NA PF seems to always go G1 on left (facing in) and G2 on right (facing in) -- this *includes* the bad case of NE+NW being safe, where G1 will be NE and G2 will be NW (even though this breaks the intuitive G1 NW-CCW G2 N-CW priority system). That said, I've seen it vary and good groups will always just adjust and wing this bad case.

There's another uptime strat for diagonal safespots that involves the melee being on the innermost corner, right where the black lines intersect, with tanks positioning closer to the flame puddles at max melee. It's tight, but my group does it consistently.

As others have said, healers swapped with ranged makes it easier to get into the center to heal after vent 2 (speaking from experience). But otherwise good strat

Can someone help me? For the first part at 0:50 what is the point of the rotate movement? is there a benefit or is it literally preference?
@geckooooooooooooo
@geckooooooooooooo Жыл бұрын
It's done boss relative so that facing the boss it will always look the same. It's done to increase consistency. In mirrored movement the players need to keep track of more directions, in this they don't need to track as much.

N/S only makes you think about 3 quadrants, not 4 with BR E/W. If you're group 2, are both the South puddles unsafe? Go to the only East one! Not this BR "go right facing boss" that can include any square.

Thanks. But why post strats so quick only to correct them? Corrections are ineffective. I wish you were more patient in uploading and I’m glad PF on primal are not using some of your early sub-optimal strats. Instead of rushing to post for views, I recommend you wait next time and post a good video with viable strats. You will still get the views. It’ll only take 1 more day.

If you're PF-ing the fourth floor in week 3, why are you looking for *any* content creator to be the one source of truth? Ya gotta adapt.
@HectorHectorson
@HectorHectorson Жыл бұрын
By no means am I rushing to get views. I took nearly a full week on my original P8S guide between researching good strats and animating everything. I make every effort to use the best strats I can find, but better ways of solving things will always be discovered later and when I find a better way of doing things, I share it with the community. I can only release the best video I can with the information I have at the time.

@@divinex1244 Wanting to raid early is a time sensitive thing. You have to balance between a timely manner and accuracy. Just because you can't be bothered to tolerate edits does not make the people making the guides lazy. Please do not make such reckless accusations and be quick to insult people. You do nothing to contribute to making these guides nor are you adding to the discussion by encouraging people to argue. Do NOT act like its as simple as "10 minutes". People like Hector work extremely hard to make these guides for us to benefit off of. Mistakes will always happen. If you're that upset about the perfect guide, then don't raid in the first month of released content. No matter how impatient you are, perfecting strategies takes a lot of time. A lot of what you are demanding is ultimately your responsibility. Why aren't YOU asking end raiders directly instead of waiting for someone else to make it easy for you?
