A few days ago, I saw a post on Reddit about a UR Ooze deck that took 1st place in a small tournament. That version ran a playset of Electric Eel alongside the Oozes. It looked janky but still super cool. Effin Primordial Ooze, man 😂 Seeing that card really takes me back to childhood! Never seen anyone actually play Ooze until now lol. Btw, I really like the theme decks you build based around classic tales and/or fantasy tropes. That's a fun way to brew. And it gives you reasons to play cards that have been largely forgotten. Anyways... Great video as always!

This is how I like to play Magic! I always liked a deck with some sort of flavour or story to it. And also, I can't really afford buying crazy expensive cards, so it's nice to see some affordable decks. I like the Sleeping Beauty theme of your deck, and I always liked that sort of classic fantasy flavour of white back in the day with Fortified Area, Castle and Animate Wall, as well as cards with knights, pegasi and unicorns. I will try and brew some sort of cheap deck with that theme in mind. Oh, and extra points to Herfolk for the aesthetic choice of picking Islands with a red background and Mountains with a blue background to complete the blue-red colour theme :) Merry Christmas, Timmy!

Great video as always! Two items: 1) Even if on turn two you cast Ooze + Mutation, the player will need to pay at 1 on turn 3 because of how state-based actions work. 2) Minor thing, you transposed the names of the chapters of your deck techs.

Could you explain a little more a out the Ooze/Unstable situation? Having to still pay 1 makes the combo pretty bad 😭

The Comprehensive Rule (CR) that lets +1/+1 and -1-/1 counters cancel out is rule 704.5q. 704.5q: If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1 counters are removed from it, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it. This is known as a state-based action (SBA). However, SBAs are only checked just before a player gets priority as stated in CR 704.3. 704.3: Whenever a player would get priority (see rule 117, "Timing and Priority"), the game checks for any of the listed conditions for state-based actions, then performs all applicable state-based actions simultaneously as a single event. (There is more but not relevant to this point.) Since players do not get priority while a spell or ability is resolving, there is no point where SBAs are checked. Because there is no check, the Ooze has both a +1/+1 and -1/-1 on it at the time the ability is resolving, so the player will have to pay 1.

I love the story behind your deck, I find it more suitable to a Rapunzel theme (more so considering the hair in the art of the enchantress), but like it a lot ❤❤❤

Thanks Tantal 🙌 Rapunzel is commonly seen as Sleeping Beauty/Aurora. It's not Snow White, but I understand the confusion as all these stories look alike and are mixed up all the time.

Great video as usual, but I think you might have changed a few too many things about the Snow White story for it to make sense flavour wise! 😁 The revised tale sounds more like the one about Rapunzel, stuck in the tower and all.

It’s didn’t meanit to be snow white, it’s actually based on rapunzel (Sleeping Beauty), en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeping_Beauty The deck does miss some components, like the spindel 🤓 I guess I need to do some fairy tale homework..
