Nice work Jabzy! I have only one comment though... would you please add your references? since videos like yours always encourage me to read more on the topic and your references would be always a good start for the viewer to cover the given topics more in detail. keep on the good work!

The Khidive of Egypt: Well now Egypt is under the rule of both the Ottoman-Empire and the British and French you might be wondering how I got myself in this fucking situation. Well, it all started in the summer of 1863.

The video is impressive because it moves away from the classic perspective in which the West is always seen as an agent bringing peace and prosperity.
@kerimozdemir40094 жыл бұрын
is there a perspective like that west only brings war and chaos all for i know
@raresdumitras32914 жыл бұрын
@@kerimozdemir4009 It depends on which part of the world you are based. On the Eastern side of Europe, the West helped foster peace and growth. It didn't do exactly the same in the Middle East, unfortunately.

@@raresdumitras3291 Eastern side of Europe isnt that place where a genocide happened under a un protected place in bosnia and arent there an active war in ukraine still goes on because west gave all the sweet promises and didnt do a fuck while ukraine were geting invaded countering russians arent exacly synonyms with peace and growth

I feel like this video could have included some parts about the war. Again, it seems very much to be presented from a Western perspective. Like as if it rational to start bombarding Cairo because of debt that everyone knew would cripple Egypt anyway ot because of some dead Christians thag eere just used as a tool by the Europeans to increase their influence in the Middle East. My problem with your videos are thag you are often leaving out judgement when it comes to British actions and highlight their justification: "they wanted their debt back or they were outraged by these Christians". But these things are to legitimate, they are just tools of British imperialism. And you already are able to make such judgements pretty good with other European Empires, but not with the Brtis. Idk maybe you have a bias that you just haven't discovered yet or it is a result of overrelying on British primary sources, but even though i really like your vids, this is a flaw that i find evertime when you talk about the British.
