The filter looks a lot like the ones I bought from Screwfix. I only have these after the pump to a tap at the sink. It removed any weird taste if I've used a garden hose to fill up too.

Great idea as always Neil - I’ve been looking for something to save carrying water around and I’m sure the principal with a more refined filter would crack the problem - fantastic idea for making sure the dog gets filtered water rather than direct from the tank.
