A perfect example for how lifters with very long legs should lift.
Calculating vertical intersect accurately was pretty difficult since the bar was at an angle and this lifter starts with the bar significantly ahead of the metatarsal phalangeal joint. First the ends of the bar needed to be located, then a line drawn between those points, the mid point of the line represents the center of the bar closest to center of feet. Then a vertical line downward from that point would represent the center bar position relative to the feet, this distance was measured. The measured distance was then taken to the end of the barbell and used to determine the proper position of the metatarsal phalangeal joint relative to the actual end of the barbell and not the camera angle.

@Atkj Also same issue with long legged lifters, Start with bar further forward than most lifters.

I don't think people would be well-advised to let their hips rise like that at the initial part of the lift, just because they have long legs. It clearly works for mr. vardanyan here, but for most novice weightlifters it would just result in a forward bar path.

@sklim2009 he has a dynamic start since he rocks into a low position then does the lift.

Why does the vertical line not seem to coincide with the center of the plates with barbell at rest? I thought that's how it was supposed to be drawn. I was trying to compare this analysis with those shown in the Eduardo Guadamud training room vid and noticed the difference.

what are the differences in technique taller lifters should take note off? his back seems to be alot flatter before exploding.

are the hips suppose to rise like that right away? It's as if he is lifting the bar with his hips only.
