Hi Dr Malik From South African perspective. Circumcision is done a lot. There are several reasons why they do this. 1. Religious 2. Health reasons as promoted by government, I think this is in part to poor health then it may be better to have circumcision. They like to push condoms and circumcision. Maybe you can do a video into the health reasons behind circumcisions. 3. As part of the tribal culture. This you can find in tribes such as Zulu's, which is one of the biggest tribes. When men turns 18 they go to a camp of sorts. As part of the introduction to becoming a man, these circumcisions are done with objects they find, such as random blades or even tin cans. Of course the sanitary conditions being low and no proper sanitized conditions. Sadly there are numerous things that goes wrong, even deaths of all the things that happen at these events. Regards

You know...this really is a nice and charming channel. Other medical professionals who do these "reactions playlists" and give medical advice on KZbin are fine, but some can be a bit over the top and a bit too elaborate for my taste. I appreciate the minimal and down-to-earth style of this channel, and I'm glad I subscribed. Also, I'm very glad to have watched your previous video about the different colors of urine and what they mean. I for the longest time had assumed clear urine was good and the ultimate goal for all, but now I know it's a myth and that the amount of water for an individual depends on their weight, body size, diet, health, daily activity, etc. Thanks so much for clearing up the confusion, Dr. Malik! It really has helped!

Interesting video! I was curious about the lab scene at 9:25, thank you for explaining. I would be interested in a video about your experiences in Med School and/or Residency. What did you think about the other specialties that you rotated through? Did anyone in your class faint the first time they saw a cadaver? Did you ever doubt that you had what it took to become a doctor? etc. It would also be cool to see a "Day in the Life of a Urologist" video but I know that's probably pretty tough because of PHI.

I’ve got a stupid med story. When I was 16 I went for my CNA. My high school had a 4 year course partnered with a college and hospital to learn about medicine. Everyone in my class was looking at higher careers within the medical field. All of the courses within this program are taught by nurses. I will never forget when one of my teachers brought up that many of my classmates will have to one day dissect a cadaver, and at that moment she mentioned that when she dies her body will be donated for science, so one day one of us may end up dissecting her. It was one of the weirdest moments I ever had in those 4 years.

I think it would be a good thing to see a video on not so common Urology issues and diseases people might not have heard of. I personally have Cystinuria, most Urologists in my country have never had a patient with it and medication options are limited outside the US. Creating awareness would be a huge help, most people can't wrap their heads around living with these sorts of problems, they tend to think of stones etc as specific individual incidents that people 'get over'.

For genital transplant people find it psychologically distressing to visibly see a different body part attached to them. However, I'm sure over 25 years the process for heart transplant has changed as well and may include a psychological evaluation as well.

Due to the high infection and failure rate, tradition held that the witch doctor who performed the ceremony could be executed with impunity for accidents. Furthermore, it was believed that the ancestor spirits would never curse such retaliation, unlike any other time someone killed a witch doctor (majored in anthropology in college, plus my secondary-care doctor is a well-trained urologist).

Ugh, the whole 'get laid so you can loosen up' is so fricking stupid... No girl, that's not the reason I'm 'wound up'. In fact, having sex in an attempt to do so when you don't really want it will CAUSE you to get more wound up. So no, I'm not getting laid because YOU can't fathom why I might want to wait for someone actually WORTH having sex with. When I find someone I love and want to bond with, THEN I will consider it and not before. If I want pleasure, I don't need to waste time and effort looking for another person to give it to me. There is no point if there is no bond. You can do whatever fool thing you want. I, on the other hand, will not act like an animal in rut for your benefit.

My pain doctor says he doesn't treat IF only my back pain. So, my IF pain keeps me her ridden nearly every single day and my quality of life is nearly zero.
