Arg, I’m so excited to build up my savings account again. But then, I see a video like this! Hahaha! I really want a Nakaya Piccalo. I really love the size of it. I could sell some other pen I don’t use anymore of course… An opal inlaid pen, oh man. 😍 How cool that would be!

My interest is in exactly the same thing. While there are many nice Italian and other manufacturers of pens made off resins, acrylics, and celluloids, I am attracted to these Japanese hand made-hand decorated pens. Because my mother was Japanese, (well she still is, but she passed away 5 years ago), I have always been drawn Japanese things and culture. Unfortunately, I don't own any at the moment. These are rare and hard to come by! But I have been researching... My favorite that I have seen are the ones that have Raden; I love the shimmering mother of pearl. You have a beautiful collection. Thanks for sharing.

Hi cate, I just love the time, effort, creativity and artistry that goes into the production of these pens. There’s nothing wrong with resin, you can get some stunning pours! But, the price you can end up paying at times almost equals the final cost of some of these beautiful urushi pens! Has there been anything you’ve seen that takes your fancy?
