US’ Antony Blinken Tells China to Not Interfere In Election: Reports
Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the US has seen evidence of China’s attempt to influence the upcoming Presidential Election. Blinken reiterated President Biden’s message to Chinese President Xi Jinping of not to interfere in November’s vote. Blinken says China’s interference in the US election is "totally unacceptable". Earlier, reports of Chinese covert accounts stoking domestic division emerged. Blinken’s remarks come after he concluded his three-day China visit. The visit marked the US & China’s bid to mend strained ties. After meeting the US Secretary of State, Chinese President Xi Jinping also called for mending ties. However, China’s support of Russia in the war against Ukraine continues to be a point of contention.
