US Army Airborne School 1961 Fort Benning Georgia - Paratroop Training - Jump School - Air Mobility

This video was digitized from a reel of 8mm film with a date stamp of 1961. There was no markings on the film container, but this is almost definitely Airborne School at Fort Benning. And from the date of the film either 1961 or 1962. The ending is an inspection of infantrymen, but I'm not sure if it is at Fort Benning or not. It was connected to the end of the Airborne film, so not to sure. I can't make out the division patches on the men.

The last few drops from the 250’ tower were interesting. Looks like they lifted up a jumper wearing a packed parachute and had him dropped with a conventional static line deployment of the chute. I had never seen this type of drop from the tower although they did demo for us a dummy drop with reserve chute to demo exactly how long it takes to deploy.
