Let me explain poor in Amreica... You're on food stamps, food stamps buys crappy food, high carbs, GMO's, etc. You are not going to get healthy food. Being unable to find work results in depression, which leads to eating more, and usually drug use too. Once you get in the system, it's hard to get out. It breaks you down mentally, who is going to hire a depressed fatty. You hold on to the hope that a new president will make a change. False hope all-be-it. How do you fix it?

obesity is a big problem assosiated with poverty ironicaly.. lack of regulation and healty food and good education for kids about nutrision is a huge class question too. americans need to start talking about class.. ritch people can afford professional dietary help and good food not all low income earners can which gives them a host of medical problems the cause them even more financial problems. and when life spans are connected to class then that a big issue.

I will tell you about growing up poor. You don't eat a bunch of junk food, you eat pinto beans and rice. Want to know how I know, cause that's how we grew up. We were poor, we ate beans and rice about 6 days a week. That's what you go to the store and buy with your food stamps if you are poor. It's clear these people live off frozen processed foods and junk foods, which are much more expensive than proper food. They want to blame society, when they have no one but themselves to blame.

For being so impoverished, they don't look like they have missed too many meals. Not trying to be mean, but if you are that poor, how do you afford to get so big? You don't get like that by starving, that's for sure. Also, they look pretty well dressed. Just saying, just because it's "on the news" doesn't meant it's true. Many times, things aren't what they appear to be.
