True, however the speed of sound was broken in 1947, Chuck Yeager, then in jets the following years. I've been hearing lot's of hype on another jet that has been around for some time by Skunk Works the original designer of the SR71 called the SR72/ Dark Star that already goes over Mach 6 outfitted with the energy weapons,/ laser that could penetrate 5 inches of solid steel far shot of light speed and the things that would have to overcome. It's been my experience that America is far, far ahead of what it has declassified! Even all the talk about hypersonic missles, America had them in the 40s when German scientist came. Then the idea was sold to China, and they produced them in quantity.

the sr 71's top speed and actual records are still classified. The fact that the air force and Lockheed martin even acknowledged the dark star as real says they have had it flying well before they announced it and probably have multiple fully functional aircraft and are working on the next gen already. dark star is capable of hitting 4500 mph or better.

Yeah that's an easy one, if you imagine the light on the front of the airplane the light as it attempts to leave would not be able to reach the escape Velocity needed to leave the vicinity of the actual airplane that it is attempting to emmit itself from. Once it "leaves" it's " on its own" and does not travel faster than light, so in effect it would never be able to accelerate faster than the plane that it just attempted to leave from.
