I like both and want both, but I do prefer the MK25.

Although I like optics I’d take the 226 all day long for the reasons you mentioned.

Thank you for sharing. Nothing else in SIG's line of pistols touches the classic P series of pistols in my opinion!

Of those two offering, I would take the P229/P226 any day. I don't like the frame / trigger set up on the G17/G18. I was really looking forward to the M17x/M18x upgrades, which for me, the frame ergos and the flat face trigger are a win-win, but in Sig's lack of putting options out for the end user, they have again left the manual safety off. Full no go for me. They have the parts for almost every striker gun and should offer them to the customer who wants them.

I'd have to take the P226. I prefer the Da/Sa. Good comparison 👍

Put the SRT trigger in the MK 25 and don't look back.
@mblake04202 ай бұрын
Ive found to feel the real trigger, especially on p320, you must put upward pressure on the slide to imitate loaded mag.
@jonp576011 күн бұрын
Yes, the slide will move just a bit when you dry fire without a mag in the gun. It's just enough to change the trigger for the worse. If I dry fire my 320, I usually fill a mag with snap caps to get the same trigger that I'd be shooting live rounds with. Most striker fired guns do this, but the 320 is the worst I've seen.

Ah it must be Friday morning. It's Hammer Striker video time! Great video. Thank you for not mentioning that Glock lost to SIG for the side arm contract. Don't want the Glock fans to cry early in the morning abd ruin their weekend. I don't have the P226 but I bought a used SP2022. I think it's quite similar to the P226 Mk25, but what do I know. Had a chance to rent and shoot the MK25. Personally I like it better then my P320s. Shoots better, trigger is nicer, not by much and workmanship is much better good as 22Plinkster says. If they wouldn't be so darn expense I would get one. Seems it's one of the better SIG offerings. And being a ye olde fart I like things that are hammer fired like 1911s in 9mm.... Thanks for the video young Hammer and looking forward to see what you got next for our viewing pleasure.

I have wanted a P226 for a long time, but Sig was so stinkin' proud of them! They also feel extra large and bulky in my hand; it's not bad, but my P320/M18 with the medium grip is more comfortable. It's not surprising that the P226 trigger is better than the M17; after all, it's in the nature of the different lockworks.
@Mark0XO2 ай бұрын
You can try the E2 grip which helps decrease the bulky grip size on the P22X series.

@@Mark0XO Thanks! The P22x series is still pretty pricy though; my interest is historical.

I know even people on TV make the same mistake, but "cache" is pronounced "cash" in both the USA and UK.
@HammerStriker2 ай бұрын
You would be correct if I was using "cache" as in a stash or computer buffer. However, the word in this context is "cachet" - prestige or status.
@bdm10002 ай бұрын
@@HammerStriker cache is not limited computers. It also means A collection of items of the same type stored in a hidden or inaccessible place. I apologize if I misinterpreted the context of what you were saying when I skimmed you video, but you also misinterpreted what you thought I interpreted the meaning. The truth is that people use it incorrectly all the time and we both misunderstood each other, and that was my fault. But the word I used goes beyond and isn’t even primarily what you said.
@bdm10002 ай бұрын
@@HammerStriker in other words, typically when we refer to a cache of firearms (e.g. firearms stored in a safe at home, firearms stored for a militia in a "magazine" or warehouse for public use, etc.), we're using the word cache and not cachet. I have NOT rewatched the video to see if that is what you meant or not because I have no reason to doubt what you're claiming you meant. I just thought you were referring to one's storage of firearms which is the primary meaning of the word (the computer definition is secondary or tertiary).
