I noticed a couple of those one seed junipers, you can't see where the live vein meets the soil. I thought that was a no-no.

Great video. I recently purchased a weeping blue atlas cedar that is about 5 ft tall. It would be awesome to turn that into something a show piece . Ever thought about making a video of a larger tree like that ? It is in my yard. Thanks!

That big S shaped Rocky Mountain Juniper if one of my favourite trees, I just wish the geometric shape of the live vein wasn’t obscured by the foliage.
@MrJcalvino3 жыл бұрын
But that foliage is needed because otherwise the entire canopy feels detached from the deadwood. That subtle interaction make the tree better.
@SecwetGwiwer3 жыл бұрын
@@MrJcalvino I understand but previously it had been designed with the movement in the opposite direction and you could see the live vein. I preferred it that way because I feel that the live vein is one of the most unusual and therefore defining features of the tree. These things are subjective though. If it was my tree… I wish!

Sometimes I muse when moving potted plants that they are hypochondriacs screaming on the inside “I’m not supposed to move” whilst listing off a whole list of ailments that they are suddenly afflicted with like vertigo, motion sickness, sunstroke etc until I put them down and they stop moving. Bonsai are the old people version also screaming about how back in their day a respectable bonsai did go to shows, one person admiring them was enough! Who wants all these eyes peering at me anyway! I’m weird. Can’t help it.

Why can't the whole world just compete in growing bonsais instead of trying to create wars and instabilities around the world?
@mk2kayman7943 жыл бұрын
I love bonsai but never understood why people but their trees in exhibitions ... of course this guy is earning his money with bonsai ... and I understand people who just want to show people their bonsais ...like me ... gets a bonsai more worthful if it was in a lot of exhibitions .. like art? edit: ok so its like getting a gold medal for your wine? its judged and you are getting more famous?
