It's really upsetting to see people who fume over him "becoming a Russian citizen" as something that's wrong. He sacrificed so many of his years contributing to service. Now he has a family, so let him live. Yeah he said he "would do anything". But one must understand that now he has children, he has other commitments. Not everybody has to be on the frontline.

@@fisrael Correction: He's just USA's most-wanted as the NSA is an intelligence arm of the USA's hybrid forces, bridging the gap between the US government and CIA as far as necessary intelligence findings are concerned. They're still considered as being under the US government's employ, whether as a contract intelligence officer or as an internal hire. That's just the basic logistics. It gets more complicated than that once you're in.

He is the victim of both US and Russia, but in the end he is really the victim of his beliefs and dignity. He refused to be silent about one thing he believed is criminal and innapropriate just to be forced to speak loud about another, even more monstrous. But the fact is, if he was not in Russia he would be long dead by now. We all know how the US deals with "public enemies", everyone knows. Thats why he was denied asylum everywhere, even China, so Russia really was the only option. Cant blame a man for just willing to live

Snowden is a true patriot. He has basically given up his life as he knew it to bust our government in what it well knows to be bad behavior (shall we say). This is a constitutional issue. We should grant him clemency completely and welcome him back home for the brave MF*er he is!

I mean this isn't a new thing. All social media companies and phone companies know that the public does not like when a company "looks in on their privacy." However; every single one of us has agreed to these companies listening to us and, also, selling our personal information because we clicked that box of the TOS.

I was living close to NSA when this happened and was underwhelmed by the details he came out with. I thought everyone assumed that the government was listening to everything. When driving near the NSA, your phone used to make a noise that it never normally made. Like did everyone truly believe that the government wasn’t listening?? Also, yes it might suck but in reality it DOES help protect us.

It only ‘helps us’ if it is legal( not), constitutional(not) and citizens knowingly give their consent( how could they have? Otherwise it is wide open for further abuse of its citizenry by its governments. As in what they decide to do with the information they have illegally accessed and compromised. So no, it does the exact opposite of ‘ protect us’.

Snowden is a brave, intelligent and patriotic man who took a stand against the increasing surveillance by the government and put his life on the line for the everyday American citizen. The fact that the government wants to publicly crucify him is due to the fact he exposed the massive wrongdoing that they never wanted to see in the light of day. I admire his commitment to the ideals he stood by.
