China can't even make jet engines that work, they buy Russian junk. Hell, China can't even develop tech on their own, they have to steal it. China's army are all conscripts, poorly trained and equipped. China does not stand a chance. Their equipment (jets, ships,tanks) are way overrated.

US has not won a single war against China post-WW2. Korean War was a bloody stalemate (China has no air force, but succeeded in pushing US-UN forces beyond the 38th parallel). Vietnam War was a costly defeat for the USA, who dared not attack across the 17th parallel into North Vietnam because Mao Zedong warned the US he will send another 'PRC Volunteer Army' like the Korean War. As a Taiwanese, I've heard tales of my grandparents' flight from mainland China during the ruthless Chinese Civil War, and I do not doubt China's determination & willingness to pay a high price to reunify Taiwan. No sane person on this island dared to declare 'lawful' independence.

Korea is not a barometer. We could have destroyed the chinese supported Korean forces by crossing "into" China. The U decided NOT to. The US allows freedoms and disagreement. Any nation with only one voice can do what China does now. If there is a threat, I assure you the US is more than capable. Even now, the technology not stolen yet by China outstrips it. If we turn our economy from self indulgence to conflict, I fear you will be wrong. Minus Nukes.

Actuwlly the Most numerous jets in China's Air Force is the j10. Not j16 or j20. China also has a lot of j11. But China will ramp up production of j20 soon. J10 is the equivalent of f16 for USA. Most numerous and the workhorse. USA also has more f15 and f18 than f35 for now.

Even if they did they wouldn’t have enough oil at some point to continue the war. American war tactics has a lot to do with cutting off supply lines and pretty much suffocating the country out of their needs and China is surrounded by US bases which would be a great threat to them. The US has no Chinese bases close that’s a threat to cut off any of their supplies.

Maybe so, china gets most of their petroleum mainly from Russia, after Russian sanctions Russia is increasing it's oil exports to China, and will inevitably develop more infrastructure to export even more. Huge problem for the US... China with Russia and friends is the new superpower, this will be a war the US and NATO can't win.

If there is something you could learn from WW2 you should not underestimate the mobilization and manufacture of US. Surprised and unexpected attack of Japan againts US cost a lot of equipment and menpower loses. Just one year after US Navy was doubled and year after quadrupled and absolutelly overwhelmed Japanase Imperial Navy. In case of menpower mobilized US outnumbered Nazi Germany and even Sovet Union. You are talking about biggest democratic nation in the world and you should not understimate power of freedom which countries like Russia or China do not know.

Quantity and reliability are more important that "features" which is a problem with modern USA warfare since USA equipment is so overly expensive and complex that breaks easily and require highly skilled individuals to repair.

@@r3n736 Wrong. The better the capability of a weapon is, the less likely the latter is breaking down. And there is nothing known as “complexity” in engineering. I can assure you that as an engineer myself. I mean, You can simply cast a glimpse on the Russian tanks who has broken down in mud in Ukraine last winter. That is bc they make some of the elements of its gear by wood, when America makes it out of high-quality steel.

A little history lesson: prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, The USA spent hundreds of billions of dollars rebuilding our conventional military capability with a primary focus on fighting and winning a large-scale ground war in Europe. The M-1 Abrams main battle tank was one of the weapons systems fielded during this time. During Operation Desert Storm, the M-1 easily outclassed the export versions of Soviet T-72 tanks. We came out of that conflict with certain prejudices carved in stone about the supremacy of US military technology. But those in the “know” were aware of a different reality. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, the US intelligence community undertook a massive operation to gain access to Soviet technology. It soon became clear that the frontline Soviet tanks had reactive armored that defeated the best US anti-tank round fired by the M-1. It also emerged that the Soviet anti-tank round would cut through the M-1, with reactive armor, like a hot knife through butter. Had we gone force on force, the US intelligence community concluded, we would have been in for a lethal wake up call. We’ve spent the last 20 deemphasizing large combined arms warfare. The Russians have been rebuilding their post-Soviet military with large scale combined arms warfare as their singular focus. They e designed their weapons to defeat ours; we became focused on special operations and “full spectrum” low intensity conflict in a permissive environment. This is a long way of saying your faith in the superiority of the M-1 is misplaced.

If one in 3 years the US revamped its tank vs tank capability to beat them or lower quality tanks in Iraq? But the point made before was that that tank force is being grounded by US tech in Ukraine.
