Just love to see Wilson, Stewart and Collier in the same team. Love em ❤❤

Watching this game in real time was great. The Japanese knew they were smaller and the U.S. would dominate BUT that didn’t stop them from competing with joy. They had genuine smiles on their faces and were just giggling. They were happy to represent their country and play with their friends. Not to forget the Japanese bench went crazy when a teammate scored. EDIT for spelling error.

It was an exciting game to watch.

These Japanese women look like they’ve been training since the age of 2, so they are very skilled but unfortunately it takes more than intense training camps to be the greatest, that’s where genetic components need to prevail.

They had the right idea to try to outquick the U.S., but there was too much everything else on the U.S. side. Plus, the U.S. is still pretty quick.

lol their style of play is much different overseas . In The USA we are not trained to play defense like that because it would simply be called a foul every possession. I actually enjoyed the intensity that Japan played with and clearly USA were not accustomed to that type of playing . Those girls are too touchy when playing defense , I’ve observed every possession and they are allowed to touch arms , shoulders , waist area , and pretty much keep both hands on the player . In USA we are trained that we can only get away with one hand slightly touching the waist to stay with our opponent . Anything more is considered a foul . I must say this was very different to watch , yet entertaining.

Due to the WNBA season, the USA team didn't have a lot of practice time.

Much of the game, especially the first quarter, was painful to watch. Missed layups and airballs galore. How Griner got only 11 when she is 8+ inches taller than everyone on the Japan team is a head scratcher. She should have 50.

Japan energy is crazy. They know they can't square up due to size, so they swarm like bees

Look at how fast they inbound the ball, not to mention how quick they're able to move on defense! I'm truly impressed...

To those who always say that Team USA basketball (both men and women) always has an easy win, there are no easy teams here. The USA is taking every team seriously, one at a time.

These new fans don't understand international basketball. Yesterday Kevin Durant talked about the advantages these team have over them even though they have the better talent. USA men team been together 2 weeks and these other countries been together all year. The WNBA try to create cohesivness by keeping a team together during the off season between olympics, it really make a difference.
