He's being scientific not just boasting too. Bolt is heavier and taller than his competition so he accelerates slowly but once he's moving in the second half of the race you can't touch him.

Ollie Wales They would have poor mechanics imo. Sprinters use the momentum of their arms a lot. In the first half they have to lean forward hard to accelerate so they would suffer off the blocks too.

Step 1: Drive, push as hard as you can, head down, body forward Step 2: Get tall, high knees, low shoulders, straighten up and just sprint Step 3: Check your sides (should be at halfway mark), start to really get fast Step 4: Don't lose

step 4 sounds like a joke but it really is part of the process. the reason bolt is the fastest in those last strides is because he tells himself no one can beat him. that last 15 meters is all mental.

This young man is pretty scientific in his explanation of how to win the 100 meter race. I appreciate it very much. I hope to teach my grandson this way. The reason why you want to stay on your toes is because going on your heels will cut into your time and slow you down.

Thanks for the good lesson, I'm currently in 100m and circular relay, came 1st in both of them. I do good, but these techniques will probably improve my running techniques! I'm gonna do more races in October, November and December. Ty!!

@@YanDa739 Hey 👋🏼 For the 100m 5 years ago, I ran 14 seconds. Now, my personal best is 11.04 seconds. Hope this gives you some motivation. It’s a slow journey but it’s always 100% worth it!

@@ispgravy4233 mostly top end speed training and lots of block start practise 👍🏼 plyometric exercises are good to do every day or two too, as they improve explosive power

my parents said to me going into highschool “we know that you are fast, but are you track fast?” and now as a sophomore i placed first in my conference and i am .11 away from nationals. i still remember one day my PE teacher told me during warmup laps dont try to catch up to calvin, you’re never gonna catch him.
