leaving the fact about this moving both hands half open , and coming to the question, I put in evidence as follows: 1:02 squat is not an emulation since is substantially a vertical push, while the running is not vertical. 1:07 wall sprint is an exercise much limited since the feet cannot trasmit any weight force to the ground and cannot push the ground, the body cannot even move forward. 4:02 is an attempt to create the same conditions when in the running the feet of the forward leg lands on the ground , but big weights will be impossible to be lifted and the feet of rearward leg cannot push anything

I have two sons that are wanting to rotate from lineman to runningback positions. My oldest is 16, he's 6' and 185lbs with decent speed but he is being utilized as a tackle on the line. His goal for the season next year, his jr. year, is to bulk to 210 and have a very muscular build to be a beast at runningback and take on that middle linebacker position as well. My younger son was not blessed with the build like my older son, so he has the realistic mindset going in that he is going to have to put in a ton of work. He is currently 12 years old, 13 in March, he is 5' and 135lbs, and is very slow. He too is a tackle currently and he is even more determined to completely redesign his body and put in the work. He wants to get to 145lbs by next season, but be a completely muscular body style. I honestly have always been blessed with a big size and a muscular style of build straight from the farm. I was military, but am retired now so I am looking to help my sons achieve their goals. I'm 6' and 275lbs and but I've never set foot in a traditional gym and I am lost on weights. Any pointers that I can use to help them, videos of yours that would be most helpful that I should focus on specifically, anything, I would definitely appreciate it!

0:26 it can incresae the speed only because it could better the coordination, it is an exercise with no overload, after some reps it becames only a endurance training...about the 5 drills.....1) this is another exercise with zero overload, no emulation of the real running, it is an aprossimative attempt of emulation to increase the weght force : the hands on the wall with bent arms produce an inclined force which block the air fase so pushing the whole body forward the ground in the opposite sense. This is also limited since the air fase is reduced, the increase of the power in ankle controreaction depends only by the diferential of weight force produced (very limited) ,also as in 1:20 the athlete loose easily the position and so must spend a lot of energy to keep as much as possible the rear foot along the direction of force 2) is only a training on the short distance.. 3).this drill has no progressive overload, no emulation of running, it is adopted only because the whole execution found on the attempt to create a higher weght force ( the air fase is larger) ...4) same thing, no emulation, with an execption , while the other drills are bipodalic, this is monopodalic, note that the weight lifted (it seems 20 kg) is an aprossimative attempt to ncrease the weight force. however this exercise has limits: for example the athlete cannot lift an enormous amount of overload (i.e. 100 but even 50 , without to create balance issues (at least because cannot hod in the hands).. 5) this drill is only founded on the fact that in a reduced air fase, the athlete is pushed to increase the frequency, another attempt to create an increment of weight force thru the a more elevated frequency. For last, the ground reaction force is simply the controreaction generated bu the weight force
