My god! I have had my phone for like 2 years now. For about 1 year i have struggle with the charging thinking it was poor quality cable that made it charge so bad and made the c connector laggy. 10 new chargingcables and this clip appear random when i was looking on yt and now all my cargingcables work perfectly and no laggy c connector anymore... Just a quick roting with a toothpick and it was like new. Jesus christ! Thank you so much!❤

On the point of giving up with my Lenovo laptop, which has a USB C type power charger port. We thought for sure that we were going to need an expensive repair, after getting the back off the laptop and seeing that the port was soldered to the board. Tried with a plastic toothpick as a last resort - wish I'd done this first. I didn't even see any fluff or anything come out, but it clearly cleaned enough to allow contact again. This video helped me fix my port! Mine was getting very hard to charge. And, I was looking at maybe trading it in or maybe cracking it open. But, I just did not want to do either of those. And, I had not thought about cleaning it. My problem is my iPad with a USB C port. It turns out, it did not have lint in it. So then I got a green Gum brand interdental brush (tight fit) and some alcohol. I poured alcohol on the cover for the Interdental brush and covered the tip with my thumb to keep the alcohol from draining out. Then, I dipped the brush in the alcohol and cleaned the port. The brush was small enough to fit in and it has a little joint on it to help it move freely. And, it pulled out a lot of dirt or oxidized metal. And, now it charges. Who knew?! House hold quick fixes could save so much time, effort, money, and stress!

The toothbrush with disinfectant cleaner worked for me. Not only does it stay connected, it went from slow charge to rapid charge. After a couple days watching the rapid change fade back to a slow charge, I realize the true fix was liquid existing on the connection. Skipped all the steps went straight to the toothpick and it did the trick! Mostly just a fluff that's gathered at the end which is stopping the connector making a full connection

awesome, hopefully much better now?

The thing that I absolutely favorite for doing a port clean out is the toothpicks that they use for braces it's got a flexible end and it's got a little rubber rippers on the end that make it just perfect put a drip of rubbing alcohol down the port let it sit for about 2 seconds and then go out with the toothpick meant for braces

2 things Mike. Recommend cleaning with open port 'down' to use gravity assist to drop out unwanted materials when cleaning and dusting, and also use a proper electronic component cleaning spray instead of generic screen cleaner if possible. Cheers.

his video is about household items, theres a chance people have screen cleaner in their homes, but if they have an electronic component cleaning spray as a household item they likely weren't the target audience for this video

Thanks thought my port had worn out metal contacts. Got a wireless charger. This video will sort it tho 🙂 In old days I bent the micro usb port with metal safety pin, but more room now with usb C so easier to get round it to clean. Also reason why has blocked up probably. Good stuff cheers!

Hi Mike, I CANT EXPRESS HOW MUCH IM THANKFUL TO U,-- BECAUSE OF UR VIDEO I GOT MY IPAD BACK TO LIFE. I had a very similar and a bad experience with my 14 month old ipad pro. My ipad wont charge beyond 1%, strange as it sounds. Was devastated when the guys at apple service center told that its an hardware issue(defective USB C port), and that ipads cannot be repaired and only replaced which would cost me ~ 600$. Was utterly disappointed as the ipad was just 2 months beyond its warranty cover and as many of us, had not opted for the apple care+. Desperate to find solutions, i spent days on doing research on internet and youtube and tried every possible tips and tricks, with no success. UNTIL I CAME ACROSS UR VIDEO. I'm sure the problem with my usb c port was not the dust accumulated, cuz i had tried all those tricks multiple times and had no effect. The trick that made the difference was- with the Cable ties / zip ties. I checked plugging the ipad after each trick and ipad wouldnt charge but after this step, it magically was. and now ipad is back to life. 100% charged. I could save all my important datas. All thanks to ur video without which I would have never THOUGHT OF OR TRIED this step with the cable ties. I dont know what in that step that was different or made the trick, but I m grateful and glad that it DID. Now ipad charges seemlessly as before. God bless u Mike. keep making such videos which do really help people in real need and a hope. THANKS A TON. P.S - I have already subscribed and shared this video links with my other friends for them to share. ;-)

So my phone had been acting up to the point that I thought my cables were just too bent, except that 2 cables shouldn't have because I hardly use then. So I ordered for cus cheap a pack of 3 and all were saying slow charge. Then I thought: Hell naw. So I saw your video and decided to use a mascara wand, isopropyl and a sanitizing wipe. Now I know the older ones are just damaged, and with the newer ones, just making sure thatthe charging port isn't dirty too. 😁 Thank you for the "tip". It's so lovely not reading that annoying message at the top of my phone saying the charge is too slow. 😕

Thank you! My oneplus 7t stopped warp charging over a month ago. I guess I was being to gentle when I first try to clean the port. There was a lot of stuff cramed in there. I upgraded to the 7t(downgraded) from the xperia xz 2 premium because my xperia stopped fast charging...yup. xperia works again also lol thank you!!

Thanks for the tips! Worked really well. Another video I watched recommended using a needle but I think your way is less likely to damage the phone. I didn't have the cleaner so I used 70% rubbing alcohol. Also had these plastic toothpicks called Doctor's Brushpick that were amazing for this. The wood ones splinter too quickly. I turned my phone off so instead of turning it on every time to test, I kept working on it until the usb cable fit well without a wobble. It took like 30 minutes for me. Guess I really packed that dirt in, so don't give up people if it doesn't work right away!
@mikesunboxing2 жыл бұрын
Glad it helped - and yes, that dirt gets very compacted inside there sometimes!
