Tim, your review was for the most part spot on. As a trainer my self and close friend to the developers of the SIRT I use the Pro model in all of my classes. As a trainer the SIRT has reduced my overhead costs by 40% just in ammo alone. As some of the others have commented the cost on the Pro model is a little high, but well worth the investment for someone that would be using it for heavy training. How ever for the person that is looking for one to use around their home or to train on moving targets using the family pet. Next Level Training has models that have synthetic slides in several colors, they even have pink and purple for the wife. These models have all the functions as the Pro model (except the green laser). Train hard.

I have 5 SIRTS for classes. Two are the silver tone (I was an initial release customer). They are excellent . Available with red/green laser, or red only. I highly recommend. Mike Hughes is a great guy too.

Is the mag safe to drop on the ground? And can you buy spare mags for mag change practice?

This is a great product I own the pro model. My only complaint is the sights they are just plain black. I was able put a set of factory sights on and have been very happy with it since.

Looks very useful! I'm a firm believer in the value of dry fire training. The price tag is a little hard to justify a purchase from a poor, destitute boy like me, though, so I'll be sticking to snap caps for a while. But still, that looks like a great training aid.

How about the slide..? Is it functional? In a way that you are able to lock it back or practice loading and clearing the weapon?
@chadp4710 жыл бұрын
The slide does not move.

Thanks for the video and review! All the video's I'm seeing mention the SIRT having a reset trigger but is that simply removing the need to rack the slide, or does this training pistol have the exact same reset point as a Glock 17 when the trigger is traveling back forward after firing a live round?
@turkovich5309 жыл бұрын
I think the pro model has adjustable trigger tension.

I've been watching vides to see if there is some arguement to support this training technique. Some gave the combo with the rifle, but I am not seeing the value in this....leaves me cold. I much more prefer live ammo.

Hello! The purpose of the sirt training guns, just as with dry fire, is that it is a great way to get in some daily training to supplement live fire. Most people aren't able to train with live fire nearly as often as they would like so dry fire training, or in this case, training with a sirt gun, is a great way to get in some training and work on specific things such grip and a good trigger press.

pair this with that iTarget product.

Very nice practice tool. There should be a requirement to train with the tool prior to going to a CCW class and range proving.

Trigger feel is not the same as a real handgun. Get a laser bullet and use your own gun for DFP!
@jameshanlon56895 жыл бұрын
CZ West: That’s a good idea. However, the problem with that is that you’ll have to manually reset your trigger every time you pull it. You’ll have to find a modification for own pistol to get a trigger reset. That is if you can find one for your type and model of pistol.

costs as much as a real gun...

I don't have a horse in the race, but it is a quality built machine that has most of the same costs of marketing "a real gun" too. I've seen those things beat to hell and keep chugging. If you use the full blown simulated range with projector, camera, shot timer, etc. It's a fair investment and does more than just dry-firing can do.

Dry fire with your carry pistol.My attitude,everybody has one,this is a toy.

Imo, practice with the gun you carry. Other than that, FOF with airsoft is the ONLY way to train.

Great review of product! But is there a kickstarter campaign to help fix this dude's grill? :/

Dude, that's harsh. Why is that important, you're not looking to date him are you? Seriously, I'm sure he's doing quite well for himself as the USCCA seems quite successful and is a great company to work with.

Adriana Kuzmikova how much do you spend on ammo? How expensive do you think lasers that hold zero cost to manufacture?
@chowmonkey20022 жыл бұрын
@@bansteban135 laser modules cost around $5 per piece and probably even cheaper in bulk. The SIRT is very useful as trainingtool and in classes. But the price is too steep. I did buy one though since there are no durable alternatives unfortunately.
@bansteban1352 жыл бұрын
@@chowmonkey2002 do you know how much building polymer molds costs? The the final machining? I mean we can all speculate, but do we know?
@chowmonkey20022 жыл бұрын
@@bansteban135 molds do cost money but it's a one time investment. Only way I can explain the current price is that the SIRT is a niche product and is not sold at huge numbers. Don't get me wrong. I do like the SIRT. It's just the price which is nagging me. I have one for small classes. Can't imagine buying 10 of them for groupclasses. It's a $100 difference between red or green laser. Just doesn't feel right especially when you check what laser modules cost.
