Dry Fire Mag made a world of difference for me. Tactile feedback and repetition. Its downside is that you're not supposed to rack the slide with it inserted, but for draw and fire drills it's great.

Nice. I’m an instructor and always teach overhand rack. Works on all semi autos. I understand you can be faster with the thumb release method. I also carry Glock. They have a very small slide lock. Just doesn’t work for me. Good drills and can’t preach enough. DRY FIRE!!! Trigger control is a quickly perishable skill.

Another drill I practice is drawing while I'm carrying items (e.g. my phone, bags of groceries, etc.). Starting w a handful of stuff & just dropping it all isn't a natural response. Great vid, hope my 2 cents is helpful.

Love to use the laser cartridge inserted in chamber and two small laser targets that flash and beep when hit by the laser. Great practice. Great for being able to practice things like drawing from a holster and popping magazine out and reinserting it. Things I'm not allowed to do at the range. Also, being able to move and get off the X. Another thing that is not really allowed at the range.

This is pretty much the drill I do, but with one diference: as I change targets I point the muzzle down, so to avoid pointing the gun on people or things I don t want to shoot. A draw the gun directly on the new target in the end. A cop gave me this drill

Sharing my reload drills, and dry fires is also recommended to security guards, We recommend differential reloading trainings to security guards.... not to police or military. back reloading, reloading at your back while maintaining your sights to your targets , (reload on you butt). Blind fold reloading, Focused eye reloading.. . Intentionall wacth movies while permorming a standing speed reload, sitted on hill, atlernated leg squatted reloading.. until the movie is finished. Dry fires march rack, reloading March rack, running dry fires, running rspeed reloading , and also jogging untill dehyrated or exhausted.

I dry fire a couple of times a month. I also practice my holds, grip and posture daily, walking around my home. My dry fire sessions involve taking up various fire positions, firing at multiple targets, in multiple situations. It's also an opportunity to ensure my kit is laid out like I want it and that everything is instinctively where I expect to find it. It's a lot of fun. It's airsoft. 😂

You are a great instructor. I would however mention one thing. At times you do not look directly at your holster when you holster the pistol. I'm a Stressful Encounter or not one really doesn't know what could have gotten in the way which could possibly either imped the reholster or worse cause a negligent discharge. That could be catastrophic especially with appendix carry!!! Just a thought.

Good Dry Fires Drills! I really like the emphasis on "getting off the X" during the drill. I always use a rack vs. slide release, since my carry pistol since slide release is very difficult to use.

Simple question here, because the answer will probably be obvious. I have a bit of a gut. For those of us who have a keggar instead of a six pack, what's the best alternative to appendix carry? I carry at my 4 o'clock, but that seems less responsive in a situation if I need to draw.

I could never ever carry appendix. I've tried many times. I can't sit while doing that! Driving? No way. And I'm 6 ' 1" / 195lbs athletic build. I'm a 3:30-4:00 IWB and a 3:00 OWB guy. I feel your pain. I also only know of 1 guy that carries appendix. He's a super slim young buck that works at our local pew supplier.
