Thanks Jim. It feels good to know there's someone out there who knows how disgusting and racist these people are. I was denied OPT because USCIS lost the check I sent with my application. Then the officers at USCIS actually guided me into requesting another OPT when the SEVIS had not updated, which resulted in getting the OPT denied again. After I appealed, and lost since they claimed the appeal was for the second OPT which had nothing to do with the first OPT application I filed. This ultimately costed me my job at a big tech company and being forced to leave the US.

@G G Where did you pull those stats from, Your ass? Q-anon? Gohmert? Beyond Refugees, and family, special skills, After 36, you are not eligible for legal immigration to the US ( it is a tiered point system, the older you are, the less points you get). I doubt that Covid is going to make any dent in the elderly population. At any rate, the US needs working age immigrants regardless.

The effect of this will be as follows: 1. Ultimately USCIS will not invoke the expanded discretion described because it is funded largely by applications -- and knows that people will stop filing and the money will stop; 2. These expanded discretionary authority will be invoked by largely younger and newer officers who want to prove themselves; 3. There will be greater disparity in the grant rates between similarly situated applicants--depending on who reviews them and what office is in charge of adjudicating the case; 3. Simple people will unnecessarily harmed.

This might be a little confusing and lengthy but please do respond when you get a chance. A family of 5 immigrated to Houston TX from Pakistan back in 2001 on a diversity visa getting green cards. 2 parents and 3 boys. In 2004 the eldest boy got in bad company and got in trouble with the law. He was a part of a robbery at a convenience store and later turned himself in to police and confessed the crime and got locked up. Parents made bail for the boy and hired a lawyer to fight for him, the case went sour lawyer didnt do any good and in 2005 the lawyer suggested the boy to simply leave USA or else face long jail time and then deportation. The boy fled the country getting scared of all that was happening as he was just 19 years old at that time, he didnt know better. Now 15 years have gone by, boy never contacted anyone of his family and have had no connection with USA for these years. Well my question is that as the boy jumped bail and left country and now his green card has been expired for a decade the boy has been living in Pakistan all these years. He has had a hard life but eventually got married to a pakistani girl and has a daughter age 6 now. Is there a way for him to come back to USA and face the charges and not get deported afterwards. I know a lengthy, vague and strange question but it is the best I could explain. please do reply back after understanding the situation.

It’s on a case by case basis. If you have a straight-forward case, there won’t be as much to ask. Your lawyer doesn’t need to go over questions with you. There are whole lists compiled on different sites of what a USCIS officer could ask you. If you do find questions you might have trouble answering, then as your lawyer. 1 thing they will definitely do is go over your application and expect you to remember what you wrote down.
