with emptier sackpack/spikebags and my cruiser i use 2 masks/bandanas/shoelaces and put it diagonally across, the mask loops go around each side of the trucks and twisted snug, with the full mask looped around the ropes/straps. the masks can be a bit sketchy for breaking, but if you use the other things you can bike with it safely on... but really i normally just carry mine... the process of tying it to my bag is more troublesome than carrying it in my mind haha

You could also use a length of paracord, instead of the bandana. If you really wanted to get fancy, you could tie a carabiner to each end of the paracord, and clip the carabiner to your truck.

I use an old the north face backpack strap and go around the most trucks with the wheels against my pack until grip tape side out.

I unlearned mall grabbing this summer. not because of some cliquey fashion statement... but my middle finger fits perfectly in a hole in my trucks on my new board that's kinda deep and I've almost broken it several times trying to twist and throw my board down loll
