Your course platform does not allow subtitles to be placed in Spanish, only in English, that prevents me from taking your courses, I don't know English and this message has been translated from Spanish, is there any solution for my request, enabling Spanish subtitles in your courses.

This was EXACTLY what I needed. I was trying to use templates but didn't like the manual process. You're the man. Thank you!

Great video it's awesome. What about if you want to update your project with tasks form "type 2" after adding "type 1" tasks first. The automation seems to stop at the first type

Could I use this for an employee training task tracker? Or would there be a better way? Our employee database is already in Airtable. thx!

This was perfect timing - I just set up a new base to use for Project Plans. One question, when defining the conditions for the Find action, you pulled the ID field of the 'Project Type' from the trigger. I would have thought you use the 'Name' of the Project Type from the trigger. Why do you use the ID? Thanks!
@GarethPronovost Жыл бұрын
I use IDs wherever possible because it ensures that I don't break an automation with duplicates. In case I have two records with the same name, using the name field could cause problems down the road!

@@GarethPronovost Thanks for the explanation, I'll definitely use ID going forward.

So if I wanted to do this with dates. Then I would set the conditions to say exactly 14 days after the "last date completed" then it would forever generate a task 14 days after the previous task had been completed? and then I can build that out weekly, monthly, quarterly? and as long as the tasks were being completed new ones would be generated?

Great video as always! If I wanted to use this for event planning - would this be the best format to use? I have an event that happens regularly which follows the same steps. But I find myself duplicating the records to then follow the steps again but it's not linked to the new event. if any of this made sense to you. But i do think that this is the best structure for me. I just need to go over the automation bits again to make sure I understand it clearly.

This is a viable option if your template is relatively consistent. However, if you make regular updates to your process, the template may not be the best option, in which case I'd recommend a template table that your automation will search and then perform a repeated action. We did a video on this recently regarding Airtable looping automations, if it helps! 🤞

@@GarethPronovost Thanks for commenting!! I have implemented this automation and structure into my process and it works nicely. Loving it already!! This is definitely the best process for me but I will also check out the other video

Yes. Im looking to automate a record created based on dates for machine maintenance. I think this will work. Or I hope this will work.

Hi Gareth, if type has more than 1 item in each line, how can the automation create tasks for each ? I also build app as you guided (child, type, template) in an other video, but I could not generate auto tasks for a specific line which has various items at "type" (product and service) sheet. When I run the app for 3 times for the same line, it generates only for one item at the type field for 3 times...

How could it be possible to combine this with having task dependencies in the template tasks table?
@GarethPronovostАй бұрын
It is possible, but a bit too complex for a comment to explain. 😬

I enjoy watching your videos - you explain well. However some feedback if you don't mind - I just wish you'd use actual examples in your videos. E.g, instead of saying Task 1,2 and Type 1, 2 etc, use something like Apples and Oranges and actual associated tasks. I'd find it far easier to relate to and follow along with (especially when it comes to the automations section) than generic 'tasks' and 'types'. Otherwise great, thank you.
