Im a studio one guy but Cubase looks by far the best DAW on the market and your videos definitely contribute to that. I feel if you made a course for sale that is ALL people would need to dive into mixing. You teach so well I could watch 300 of these videos

Interesting! With drums I usually lower the velocity of the kick-hits (or they are lower when I play it myself) and that does the trick pretty much. Makes it sounds a little more real too. But great tips altogether!

Can't we use sidechain with a compressor for same result ?

It won’t sound the same, but just different. With automation you have a constant “spot” or room for the desired part (like a solo). If you use side chain compression you have a constant “up and down” motion sort of speak; which could work as well. I’d say try both and see what suits you best.
