agree, the pillows one is the most absurd 🤪🤔🤷♀
@melissabarrett97502 жыл бұрын
If the filling is Dacron, it can go bad after about five years. That's why it's a good idea not to stockpile pillows and only go out and buy new ones if you are going to be using them within days of purchase. Always replace pillows about every three years. They build up a massive amount of body oil and bacterial and dust mites over a few years, even when you wash them. You can kill the mites, but they're still decomposing in the fibres.

It was more than likely best before dates, and if not then it was because the plastic containers they are stored in degrade over time and leech chemicals into everything they have contact with.

Medications can become very toxic after their expiry date. Good idea to dispose of them the day before or return them to a pharmacy for disposal. They incinerate them.
@Cheesus-Sliced2 жыл бұрын
@@melissabarrett9750 they don't usually become toxic, so much as becoming ineffective. Toxicity usually comes from the packaging, if it's particularly volatile, like epipens. The epinephrine itself is fine, but chemicals in the plastic seep into it over time, which is why they store many times the actual dose in each autoinjector, so it lasts longer before reaching an unsafe concentration.

Sometimes manufacturers will put date of manufacture or packed dates on items. This can help to make them identifiable as part of a batch if there's a toxicity scare on that product, eg:contaminated during manufacture. @Curtis Millar If your bread bag has a square plastic neck tag, the Best Before Date is printed on that. I don't think your local bakery bothers with dates. We all know when bread goes dry and stale, or has green mould spots. Your more expensive, specialty bread is often packed in a brown paper + cello bag. The Best Before Date is usually printed on the Ingredients sticker. This is one of many reasons older people keep a magnifying glass 🔎 in the kitchen drawer - so they can read the bl**dy fine print.

Does anyone remember cheerio sausages ?, there greatest claim to fame is you didn't have to boil them to cook them just warm them up & dip in tomato sauce, they are still a secret craving of mine, even though I have known how bad they are for me. In my younger days my Pop used to make them for us on our way home from school by just running them under hot water, I'm not sure what preventives they contained, but I'm guessing all of them & any used by date was thrown away when you remover the paper covering them & ate them cold from the inner plastic bag.
@Cheesus-Sliced2 жыл бұрын
A lot of meats like that have been either cured, pre cooked or both. The only problem is if they use certain additives in the mix, above and beyond what's needed for curing.
@bjw48592 жыл бұрын
@@Cheesus-Sliced I don't think cheerios were ever cured in any way, it was just packed full of preservatives & additives, wrapped in an artificial red skin & served at most parties I have ever been to, the dipping sauce made it. @Cheesus-Sliced2 жыл бұрын
@@bjw4859 they are precooked. The packaging instructs fully cooking/heating them for the sole purpose of avoiding lawsuits for the odd occasion where someone gets sick because of some form of contamination after the precooking stage of production. @@Cheesus-Sliced Look don't get me wrong, I would still buy cheerios at the drop of a hat, as for artificial, it's not just collagen from animal skins, it's everything they add to it after it is boiled & processed, the colouring it's self is a whole other set of nasty. if you want to do a bit of light research, look at what goes into food colourings, blue is just toxic, it's amazing that people just don't know or don't care what go into food colourings, sometimes I wish I didn't know either.
