Perfect timing! I’m new to Dante and my new DM3-D just showed up. Thank you.

Might sound like a silly question, but at 6:58 when you used Dante Controller to route the stage box (TX) straight to your PC as the RX - aren't you making it harder for yourself to record? As you won't have easy to use gain levels for a recording, compared to using the dLive as your TX...?
@brianbauer3148Ай бұрын
In his example it looks like he has a Dante enabled stage box so the console would give you control to set your gains but the audio would be routed strait from the pre to the computer as we as split to the console over the cat5e. If there wasn't a Dante stage box the the signal would first pass through the console then be routed to the computer through Dante. The console would obviously still be the pre amp control. Not sure if Allen Heath has software to independently control their pres. I know Yamaha does.

I am using a behringer x18 connected to a mini pc running dante via. Including an optional touchscreen I am still under 1000€ that is great for that many ports connected to dante.

How are you liking it? I’m looking for affordable options. I do mostly post production for film but would love tove to be able to send audio from anywhere in my house / studio and booth to the dante network

Why is my behringer x32 does not appear in the Dante Controller ?

Using Dante Via to make my usb sound interface into a Dante source/destination.

Great video thank you! I didn't hear you cover this in your video...is the signal that's going from Dante and being recorded into your DAW pre-fader or post-fader?

How can I send audio over WiFi with Dante to a client I’m recording vocals to from let’s say from Boston to California?
@wattscharliedoing11 ай бұрын
I don't know enough to answer it fully, but it I think it is possible. Instead of wifi, Dante recommends dark fibre or PrivateLink. Otherwise an open network can result in data loss and therfore audio artefacts. I'd recommend looking into Dante Domain Manager (DDM) within Dante Controller as both locations will be on seperate networks ... plus enabling AES67 on a device (if it supports it) to help create better syncing over a GPS location.

Thank you for this video :-) Is there some simple soundcard with up to 8 channels that I could use with the Dante virtual soundcard?

You're very welcome. I've not come across something like that. What would you use it for? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're looking for

@@OffshoreAudio Well, I bought a MacBook pro mid 2014, in order to run Qlab on it. Now I would like to connect a Roland FA-66 trough firewire because I need 4 audio inputs for lavs. The problem is that I have a hard time to find the necessary adapters to connect them (I need to go from firewire 1394 to Thunderbolt 2). I am wondering if another card that I can connect trough Dante will solve my problem.

Ah I see. Apple strikes again. Dante have a list of sorts. global.audinate.com/products/dante-enabled/all/microphone-preamps?lang=z They're pretty pricey so I'd probably just get a thunderbolt usb hub and a regular usb soundcard. That's if you can't find the necessary adapters to make it work.

Thank you for the nice video tutorial! Is it possible to get the dante signals into DAW and output it simultaneously to analog speakers or headphones connected to the same DAW-PC? Unfortunately I just found out how to output it into dante network again.
@OffshoreAudio6 ай бұрын
you're welcome. It depends. Can the DAW use to separate audio engines at once? Maybe on Mac you could create an aggregate audio device to make it happen. Not sure if there's a windows version of that, or if that is even current.

Thank you so much the video! SUPER HELPFUL! Question, how would I troubleshoot my DVS not properly showing within Dante Controller. It shows up within the "Device Info" tab within Dante Controller but NOT under the "Routing" tab... At the bottom of Dante controller it is showing 2 devices (Dante Card & DVS a.k.a MacBook Pro) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Is your device in Dante Controller showing up as red? That's usually an issue of ip addresses not matching. If you double click on the device in the device info tab and it's a mismatch ip it should pop up with a warning that tells you what the device ip is and what the dante network is set as.

downloaded and installed it, but I can't find the trial license anywhere. I've tried many times in case I missed something, but to no avail. Uninstalled it, as it doesn't seem worth trying further. Is it actually a trial version that doesn't require a license but on the page stated to look for trial license

Hey, what can I do if I don’t have a Dante on my mixer? I have an Allen & Heath SQ7 Mixer
@sirnicofficial4 ай бұрын
You’ll need to install a Dante expansion card into one of the card slots on the back of your mixer Edit: I just checked and you should be able to use the Network port on the back of your SQ7
