What a brilliant idea! I love how you made the rollers with the tube!! I love making bisque stamps! I made a roller by stamping all of my leaf stamps on a roller so all I have to do is roll it along the rim. What a cool idea with the different layers!! I like to put a bunch of holes in my rolllers and stamps with the pin tool to help the drying. I remember the first few times I made stamps and they took forever to dry!! No one wants to wait for clay to dry! Lol. Thanks so much Ann!

Hey Michele! Thanks. Im glad you liked it. What a great idea with your leaf stamps. That way you get the raised surface too when you roll it. Very good idea about the drying too. You always are so clever!! Thanks for the great tips. Have a wonderful day. Ann

Oh my goodness, Anne! Spectacular, as always, ideas. I loved the first mug with weeping plumb best. I have to admit that I didn’t think that I would care for the last mug design, but I totally love it too. Thanks again for your time and knowledge.

Hey Kathleen. I like that one too with all the illustrations. I kept the images simple so anyone could do them. Nothing fancy but the results are still great. Im glad you liked the last mug too. The good think about that was that you could mix and match the rollers and make unique designs every time. Thanks for watching Kathleen! Ann

I do have a texture ball. I love the results using it. There is no direction I have to care of. It looks always amazing. I can really recommend using balls.

Hi Sabine. We did a video a while back where we made all sorts of texture stamps and the roller balls were part of presentation. I kept the one that I made and love that one too. They are a lot of fun. Thanks so much for watching! Jim and I appreciate you. Ann

This is wonderful! Are all the rollers you are using bisque fired or at leather hard? Or bine dry when you use them to create the design? How long do they typically last?
@annruel198247 минут бұрын
Hey Debbie. Always great to hear from you. The rollers I was using in the video were all leather to bone dry. I had just made them that week and I couldnt fire them before they were totally dry....they were still damp. But you are right, if I want the rollers to last, I need to bisque fire them. I addressed that a little in the video in my script but the pieces still werent quite dry by the time we finished putting the video together. The good news is that even in the leather hard form, you can still test the rollers out and correct anything you dont like before having to fire the piece and being committed to the design.

have you ever tried to curve it on plaster roll ?
@annruel1982Күн бұрын
Hi Shorokgalal. Good question. I know you can carve into plaster that is stiffened but still damp. Im not sure how much detail you would be able to achieve. The other thing. I might be worried about is that some of the plaster would transfer to the clay. Its never good to contaminate your clay with plaster. On the internet it says, "When clay is fired, any bit of plaster present is totally dehydrated but remains intact as a piece of gypsum. Over time, the bit of gypsum rehydrates-it absorbs moisture either directly from the air or from water the work is exposed to." That would not be good for functional pieces. I would choose to carve the clay over the plaster, I think. Thanks for the question and for watching. Ann
