There's actually already a parameter in the code that can be used to compensate for camera angle, just not sure how to switch it around without going straight into the python files. I'm going to message Attilla and see if I can't get a little more info on that.

I have thought about this a lot but not for drones. You could mount a Gopro on top of a DSLR and use the gyro data. Wish there was a way to do this. Should work perfectly so long as you shoot at a fast shutter speed and have some way of setting the angle on the camera.

Guys in the community have already been experimenting with mounting flight controllers to their cameras for the gyro data, it works fine and eliminates the need for angle input

It's recommended that you use openlager, as openlog doesn't seem to be able to keep up with the required write speed for smooth gyro data. This is usually caused by an issue with people trying to run the file from within the zip. You have to extract everything to an open folder and run the program from there. If this doesn't help, see the facebook page listed in the description.

Read the description, don't use the correct_fps file, use the ***_OUT file. If you're still getting 0kb, check the second guide titled about time/offset.

Attila who helped refine the code for this says that by default it's set to 30 degrees, and you can change that parameter in one of the scripts. Next iteration of the software will have a variable parameter for setting camera angle.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I've been informed that the file you're supposed to run through Reelsteady is actually the GP***_OUT files that will appear in the "windows" folder with your GP.exe

I don't think this is correct. The file with _out on the end that is created in the folder with GP.exe is 0kb in size. Whereas the corrected fps file is the size of whatever video you imported. Are you sure this is correct ? Im confused because in your video it shows corrected fps under the video that is stabilized. Am I missing something?

@@doom3crazy Attila who wrote the UI for the script mentioned to me that it is the OUT file. The 0kb file that you're seeing is likely due to a problem with the offset/time parameteres. get FC with SD card and you will have space for 1000 flight logs ;) it's a shame tho that theres not many FCs with sd card slot, but it comes really handy if you need to troubleshoot some random in flight failure, or lets say do stick overlay on top of video

@@doom3crazy No, SD card logging should work. You just want to make sure it's at least a U3/Class 10 quality SD card or it won't keep up with the blackbox write speed

@@doom3crazy I run the gopro on my 5 inch at 30 degrees, but it's out of commission right now so I can't really test. I'd say give it a try, but if you run into issues I'll talk to the guys who scripted it because I know there's a parameter you can change to accomodate camera angle
