Finally, reverb & Delay seem a lot easier to use and understand, thanks for this 😄

Dude I love your videos, you brought basically everything I've learned about reverb over the years into one video for FREE(Also some stuff I didn't even think about). You really help the community out with all your tips bro I hope you know that! I'll be watching this video a few times over to make sure I got everything. I hope you and your family had a merry Christmas and I can't wait for your next video🔥

Austin, this is awesome. I've been tweaking my Cubase template for about two years now and I'd always just put my sends back to the group channel. The idea of doing the ducking with the stock compressor on the return channel and sidechaining it with the actual raw vocal track is awesome. I'd always just been thinking of hard gating instead of using a compressor and this is an even better way to approach it. I love that I'm able to learn things from a pop perspective and then bring it back to my genre of death metal and I just added this to all of my sends in my template. Btw, Seventh Heaven Pro is astoundingly great and that's got a permanent place in my vocal (and drum) sends too! Thanks dude! Happy almost-New Year and I hope you guys had a great Christmas :)

Thank you for this video. Quick question, do you use side chain compression on the individual effects in addition to adding another layer on the effects return bus?
@DodgaOfficialАй бұрын
You've heard of the three reverb trick? Get ready for the six reverb trick! Here's the setup, you have three sends, one small, medium, and large, you have those sends linked to two channels each, one for each left and right channel, then you add a reverb effect to each channel, changing the size and other parameters slightly from left to right. To clarify, you'll have two large reverbs, two medium, etc, now hard pan those reverbs left and right according to their channel. Play around with the predelay of each reverb, the point of this is that you will route instruments to the send you want some reverb from for that instrument, and it will be routed over to the two associated reverbs, the sound will hit one side first and then wash over to the other side as the reverb dies out, giving you this wonderfully complex and lush reverb sound. Want an even better pro trick? Saturated, compress, and limiting your reverb bus to help it stand out in the mix without drowning everything out. You can have really really intense reverb that is very audible without having to sacrifice clarity in the mix, especially if you sidechain elements and duck the reverb as needed. What's so cool about this is that you can basically have different stages sounds travel through as they move around the room, it gives your track such an element of depth and dimension. Figuring this out really opens the door up to so many mixing possibilities when it comes to reverb. If you aren't routing your track through sends and buses yet, that's the next step in your journey, it seems to simple and pointless, but it unlocks depth and dimension and layering in your track

Do you print everything with tuning then more processing after? I don't understand how you can screen capture with all that processing on the vocal. I have a pretty great comp for music production, but vocals are so process heavy it kills my ability to screen capture.
@MakePopMusicАй бұрын
Nothing in this is bounced or rendered at all. The computer is 64gb, i9 so it’s pretty strong.

Magic7 reverb by WaveAlchemy is a free reverb similar to seventh heaven for those who don't have seventh heaven or don't want to buy another plugin currently , its modelled on the Bricasti studio reverb.
@ezrashantiАй бұрын
Just a tip for people, I use 7th Heaven Pro, and wave Alchemy has created a free M7 based Reverb called Magic 7. Great free alternative.

How did you solo the FX track in Cubase? I usually do it with the listen buss, but I haven't figured out how to do it only with solo.
@MakePopMusicАй бұрын
It’s only possible if you have the return bus because it essentially allows you to monitor JUST the wet sends.

Thanks for the video, man! Small request: could you try to refrain from using sample material that prominently displays profanity? I have small children, and I love watching your videos, but I certainly don’t want them being exposed to that if I can avoid it. Not trying to make a big deal of it, because I understand that we are all adults here.
