Tip: Put the sheet in the fridge before applying it, it'll help prevent damage and a lot of these thermal sheets actually recommend doing this on the instructions. It'll also make it easier to trim

@DrehzahlorgelАй бұрын
I used it in my previous AM4 system and I also use the kryosheet on my current AM5 system. Althrough, it is more expensive, it comes with advantages. Applying the sheet was really easy. You just need to be careful, while handle the sheet. If you are careful while working on electronics, then you already have the right mindset and can control yourself :D. Another advantage is, using the sheet multiple times and there is no pump out of the past = temperature changes over time. The temperatures are very good. I have nothign to complain.

the straight benefit is that it does not have a service life anywhere as short as thermal paste, though it's sketchy if it incurs cracks/damages and loses efficiency drastically

I’ve been running a kryosheet in my build for the last year (cpu is 5800x3d) decided to try it after the paste I had in there at the time started to dry/pump out and my temps were getting higher than normal. I can say for certain it works it’s just as good as any other paste I’ve used before but without the need of worrying about re applying paste. You have to be careful though as the sheets is conductive but if you by the correct size (thermal grizzly has on the site what size you should get depending on your cpu) and center it as best as you can you should be fine. Also try not to shift your cooler around on top of the IHS cause you could tear it but I got mine on first try no issues. When I upgrade to the am5 platform I will most likely get it again.

I’ve seen these sheets promoted on good build channels like yours yet wonder about their conjunction with CPU contact frames (especially since they come from Thermal Grizzly aka der8auer the initial creator of the frames). So far I’ve only seen them displayed as used separately which is strange because it seems like they’d be best used together.
@billcipher534Ай бұрын
I’m not on am5 yet but that was my plan to get a contact frame with a kryo sheet. Currently have one on my am4 build
@Skullking489Ай бұрын
I've been using these sheets since I think December 2023 for my 13900k and contact frame. I tested the sheets against Thermal Grizzly - Kryonaut Extreme, and I didn't notice a difference greater than 1%. I also used a sheet for my GPU and the temps were again similar or the same as paste. I will be reusing these sheets again for my next build.
@Terry-cw9tyАй бұрын
Contact frames with AM5 aren't needed because the chips are so efficient, you get an average drop of 1-2 degrees with frames with that socket. With a7950x3d I average low 40s during desktop applications & mid 60s to low 70s max ever during extreme gaming sessions on a Cooler Master MA824 tower cooler in a Hyte Y70 case. An aio isn't even necessary with AM5. Just spread your paste, don't even use KPX, just MX5.

Fan mounting design remains idiotic, all these years later. And that's where the issue comes from. You either end up touching the paste while lowering the fan at an angle, or it slides the second you lowered it because paste between flat, frictionless surfaces = sliding. This can be solved either by having a 'guide pillar' easily placed on each hole corner so the fan is lowered with no wiggle room, and the 'pillars' then removed, or by making a different mechanism on the mobo side to have more verticality and be screwless, to avoid having that ridiculously low room for error while aiming the four screws into their corners.

I plan to use a Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut thermal sheet in my Dell XPS 9550. Replaced the stock thermal paste a couple of years ago with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste but the case fans seem to be running far too often whilst the system is idling. Will also add some Thermal Grizzly Thermopad Minus Pad to the VRMs etc. Have read that some users have even had to undervolt the CPU to prevent the fans from running so often. Shame an end user has to carry out so many mods on an Ultrabook (especially after spending ~£2,400!) just so they don’t have to listen to case fans running for most of the day! 🙄👎🏻
@BakedTMАй бұрын
I wouldn't want to be running over 85 degrees as it'll start to damage.

if can reuse, there something wrong with it. idea of any stuff between cpu and radiator is maximum remove air from the area of contact. ideal way is nothing between but super polish both things for make there diffusion. second is any thermal semiliquid stuff that make same way, but without so good thermal conductivity, and this video stuff, after some enough pressure and time, must works same as first variant - diffusion of solid bodies. and after 2-4 years you can remove that thing, that's will mean there absent diffusion, and there still air between this stuff and cooler and cpu. but this is theory:) practice can surprise any smartarse:) so for test that thing, need take that stuff after half year for test, it must be better after some period, and compare this with liquid metal and best thermal past. so actually for clear test first need use thermal past, clean, use liquid metal, clean, put that stuff, and test after month, after, two month, after fore, after 8.
