Consoles should have focused on 1080p 60fps bare minimum. 4K is something that shouldn't have come to consoles until the consoles are actually powerful enough to run every game 4K 60 fps.

@@GMMReviews You fail to understand what I said. I didn't say consoles cannot do 4K. What I said is they cannot handle every game at 4K running at 60 FPS. We have games where we have to choose 30 FPS to get 4K and sometimes it's not even native 4K. 30 FPS shouldn't even be legal in 2023.

Yes this maybe 1080p-1440p 60..I also feel that would have given them more headroom for better overall graphics..better ai..ect ect..because even graphics like the 2080ti struggled with 4k60 with demanding games..was only till the 30series they kinds got there

4k is a marketing gimmick and 1440p is where its at. Also easier to get higher frames since it is less graphically intensive, but still much better than the ancient tech of 1080p.

The Photofast 4k gamer pro looks worse than just connecting the switch to the TV in my opinion, this is just because of the sharpening effect it adds, if you want sharpening, use your TV's inbuilt sharpening setting, it definitely does what the mclassic can't do, which is taking a 1080p 60hz signal and upscaling it to a 4k 60hz signal, but for older systems like the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U for example (provided you give a matching output setting like 720p on a 720p game) to the mclassic you can get a good 1080p or 1440p upscale For systems like the Wii, Dreamcast, PS2, OG Xbox and GameCube a good 480p (or smoothed de-interlaced 480p for games in 480i) sent to the mclassic would give a good 1080p or 1440p signal down to the 5th generation of consoles (PS1, N64, Sega Saturn) with a upscaler with a 480p smooth upscale mode (like the retrotink, or Eon Super 64) can get a good 1080p or 1440p upscale for some 4th generation console games (specifically the 3d games on those systems) would benefit from a similar upscaling solution as the 5th generation consoles. ultimately I think combining the mclassic or mcable with the photofast 4k gamer pro for older systems may lead to making older games look as good as they possibly could at this point in time on a 4k display. lastly I might as well mention this, maybe there is just a preference to the sharpened look of the photofast 4k gamer pro for certain games which I 100% believe is possible, as the Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch on the default graphical settings 100% looks nicer on the high setting with the photofast 4k gamer pro. However I do think the mclassic or mcable would help especially for games that either run at 1080p with no anti aliasing, 720p without a good upscaling solution, 900p without a good upscaling solution, or even 480p without a good upscaling solution. I 100% think that on its own the Photofast 4k Gamer Pro (and by extension the 4k gamer +) are only good for 4k displays that have slow and/or bad inbuilt 1080p to 4k upscaling, and work better with base PS4, PCs that can't run 4k on games (either due to the resolution being locked to below 4k or the hardware not being powerful enough to run a game at 4k) ultimately I think getting an mclassic with a 1440p to 4k upscaler would be the best for upscaling games to 4k in most cases, and if you're going to upscale games that run at 1080p with no anti aliasing or below 1080p (with or without anti aliasing) with the photofast 4k gamer pro (if you get one) I'd still recommend adding the mclassic anyway

mClassic + 4K GP combination for 250 bucks max is an amazing combo for all 5th to 8th console gen fans. especially with being able to set 720p or sub-720p games at their native res and then letting the mClassic do the job towards the 4KGP, which might even improve framerate for a few/some games that the console is suffering while doing its own >1080p upscale.

Better image quality is all that matters to me as some games tend to get very blurry from far range distance.

really would have liked to hear more about the latency rather then just "don't worry about it''. i have a hard time with emulation specifically because of input delay compared to original hardware so if you add up the display , the wireless controllers + the post processing is it really unnoticeable?

Is there a program you know of that gives you all that information? To be totally honest I’m not exactly sure how to find out those precise numbers, I just play myself and really pay attention to the input variation, and with this accessory I didn’t notice anything. If you know how I’d be happy to test it and pin a comment with the results, I think more people are probably interested in that too. Let me know, thanks for the feedback.

@@jeremymklinger I know there is a device for testing this, however I have seen tests with the photofast 4k gamer pro and it adds so little input delay it is unnoticeable even on said testing device, so if your 4k display has a bad internal upscaler then the photofast 4k gamer pro is the best option for upscaling 1080p to 4k (if you want to upscale 720p or 480p for example, you'll need a separate upscaler to get it to 1080p, an mcable or mclassic is the first thing I can think of that does this)

Mclassic is better in my opinion cause it actually does anti-aliasing and upscales to 4k with no lag. Plus its way less expensive.

@@diegomora7608 Yes and no. It will upscale 1080p to 2160p at 24/25/30Hz. But, 1080p at 50/60/120Hz will stay at 1080p. Largely though, you are correct.

Yes, the mClassic will upscale to 4K with 30Hz or lower signals, but signals with higher refresh rates can actually be upscaled to 1440p, otherwise known as 2K. The catch is that not all TVs are capable of displaying such a signal (in which case it's only either 1080p or 4K), so for those TVs the mClassic will stay at 1080p. This technicality is why the mClassic is an evolution of the mCable, a device that is also capable of upscaling to 4K with lower refresh rates but would otherwise output 1080p only.

unless you have a converter box that takes a 60hz signal and converts it to 30hz, you aren't getting 4k from a Nintendo switch with the mclassic. on the other hand, you can connect an mclassic to a photofast 4k gamer pro, even though that's not very optimal. I'm still looking for a 1440p to 4k upscaler box because that would be the best option for a 4k display simply because the mclassic's 1440p output even when upscaled to 4k looks nicer than the 1080p output being upscaled to 4k.

I just bought 4k Gamer Plus because of the black Friday deal. I'm using it strictly on PC. The upscale is no different from actual 4k. This product is worth every penny. The price is justified for what it does. If you wanna get into PC gaming. This is the cheap way to do it. Get the cheapest GPU that can run games in 1080p 60fps and you're good for life. I heavily used Lossless Scaling application until I was able to afford this thing. Again it's worth it. There's $200 dollar mini computers out there that can run games in 1080p 60fps. Attach a 4k Gamer Pro on it and you'll have 4k 60fps just like any other GPU that cost $1500 for no reason.😅

Those cables plus mclassic all do anti aliasing and they can even stack making the effect stronger but some people don't like the oversharpening. 4k gamer is a sharpener no anti aliasing it actually adds a few jaggies.

I could never afford it. I have cheaper method. $20 zero delay capture which I already own. Obs running on a pc to display the Nintendo Switch. Use a program called ShaderGlass to "lock on obs studio window". Then in ShaderGlass pick "aa shader 4.0 upscale the obs studio window to 4k with the aa shader 4.0 upscaling filter.

You can also use Bandicam as a 4k display. Then cover the entire screen with ShaderGlass to sharpen up the picture.

Don"t buy this crap, just line the Mclassic is an overpriced crap that does nothing. The switch was not made to be played in 4K displays, so you have 2 options: -If your TV has a "Game mode" enable it. It improbes the framerate in a very noticable way. -If image quality matters to you, save up and buy a PC monitor, those handle 1080p nicely and you'll get a very sharp image quailty. Some even have options to toogle brightness, color depht, HDR and so forth.
