Mike and Billy are so fun to watch. The experience that Mike brings and Billy adds value to the show. It's great seeing others participate as well. Billy looks great, even better considering the career he's had. With the beatings those wrestlers take, that has to take a lot out of you, especially as you get older. Some don't even look like Billy today, even in their best shape ever. Keep it up guys. Great review.

@WhatDeyKno24
@WhatDeyKno24 2 жыл бұрын
@@royalzak2670 it is sad to think of what was going on. Rockstar lifestyle for sure spending so much time on the road away from family getting in trouble, doing harm to their bodies. Probably a huge reason Mike chose Battledome over pro wrestling
@billj4525
@billj4525 4 ай бұрын
@@WhatDeyKno24 Yeah, but not every wrestler abused themselves and used drugs and alcohol. So many did, but Mike is the last person to ever do that. He would not have gone down that road, but he likely didn't want anything to do with a lot of those guys anyway. Mike would have been in an uncomfortable situation if he was in WWF in the 90's to 2000's. We have an incredible amount of dead wrestlers from the life style back then though.

Going very heavy then dropping the weight almost in half makes it easier because you've activated more fibers to recruit and move that weight. Isometrics can have a similar effect.

I also tried my best to never drop dumbells ... So many times i remember grabbing dumbells that were actually bent from being dropped by other lifters...some of these were only 40 lbs.. The only time dropping dumbells makes any sense is if you are in fear of injury etc..

Yeah, but when going super super heavy on incline dumbbell press, dumbell shoulder press, or even flat, you sometimes can get in a very dangerous uncomfortable position when going to failure. I don't believe in dropping them for no reason, but I do sometimes drop them when going to failure. I sometimes lose control a little bit and don't feel I could safely put them down without a chance of injury. Even if I think it's small chance of injury I usually drop them. I go extremely heavy, but I make sure no one is around if I drop them. This doesn't happen on all my heavy sets, but it happens enough. I never drop lighter dumbbells on easy sets. Some people just drop dumbbells for the hell of it it seems like. That I never understood.

I am 65 now and am nothing close strength wise as in my hay days...yes it is best to drop weights if you believe if you don't you will mess yourself up...only thing i hated was these morons that bend pretty much all the dumbell from dropping them..maybe dumbells handles don't bent anymore..not sure...i just workout in my home gym.

Shoulder press range of motion is an interesting topic. There is an argument about going higher toward more of a straighter arm bringing in tricep use, but I feel that in that instant the tricep acts as more of a synergistic muscle than a prime mover muscle, which the shoulder muscles continue to be. Plus going through that range enables the shoulder to develop in stability in that position, where it may otherwise develop a vulnerability. With that said, I am always keen to go right to the top because it allows a little relief. The way I see it, I could get 6 reps out with my arms never going beyond 160 degrees for instance. But at 175 degrees or close to 180 I could get 8-10 with the same weight. In summary, I feel the stimulas for change is allowed to be greater when the range of motion is larger. How far down to go is another subject.
