So a long long time ago for Christmas my parents got me a Sandisk Clip mp3 player and loaded all kinds of their music onto it essentially making my musical taste what it is today! So after obsessing over this channel for months (still ongoing obsession) I come across my old Sandisk and just hit this wave of nostalgia. So after this beautiful reunion I hatched a daring and evil plan inspired by you. I'm going to convert this exact type of mp3 to bluetooth and live on using my baby boy. Been really inspired by you to get into this and I might even film my technological journey for da Yootoobs

You can solder the Bluetooth receiver to the internal battery and to the headphone jack. That way you don’t need an extra battery and the dodgy adaptor. You could also drill a small hole into the back of the iPod and operate the power and pairing buttons with something like a sim eject tool! Please consider doing that and make another vid about it. That would be so cool. Here in Germany we call that EHRENMANN.

@@DankPods Run a 3.5mm splitter, so you can keep the 3.5mm jack, drill extra hole for microusb(which I assume the transmitter uses), use holesaw to cut out the applelogo on the back of the case, glue that to the transmitter button, and there you go. Convininient? No... but noboy will talk shit to you when you whip that thing out.
@insomnimatics5 жыл бұрын
Had the same idea as I was watching this. Maybe it would be better to either make a circuit board to tether the charging circuit from the transmitter to the ipod's charging port or make a circuit to allow the transmitter to run directly off the ipod's battery. If you were to go with charging them as separate devices, it would be a bit of a hassle. You could easily forget to plug in the transmitter since we're so used to only having one charging port on a device. Pretty awesome janky build, though. Glad I found this channel. Great content.

Solution: Take a 3.5mm plug that acts as a switch when headphones plugged in, it disables the Bluetooth adapter, if not bluetooth will be enabled. For pairing you could desolder the switch and connect the Playbutton in parallel with it (or any other switch) so when you Longpress the Playbutton, paring mode is activated. I know, that would be prettby hard, but it could work. Also run the devices from the same battery. Cheers

this could be cleaned up with a smaller bluetooth adapter, soldering the audio connections to the back of the 3.5mm jack or splicing in a splitter, slaving the Ipod battery to the bluetooth and drilling a hole or relocating the power controls. also a thicker Ipod would allow more room for stuff. so the thickest Ipod avalable would be the ideal target.
