I so love what you are doing and I am sure so does everyone else. Also, I am a musician and can totally understand your love for them. The sound quality was just epic! I was totally in love with the iPod but couldn't afford one. While I can totally buy an iPod for every day of the week now, they don't make them like they used to. Just a quick question. Have you tried uploading sped up versions of your videos on 9gag? Your videos are super fun and you deserve explosive growth in subscriber count. For metal, I suggest automotive sandpaper. Start at 2000 maybe, go to 4500-6000. Perhaps 9000. Scotch Brite pads are a must as well for a final mirror polish. Get real buffing compound for a good mirror finish. Source- hobby knife-maker

The way I repaired the back panel was by buffing with a nail buffer then rubbing the back against an antistatic soldering mat with baking soda in between. This smooths out the deep scratches but preserves the laser etching. I put on some Autosol and polished it up. Some scratches were still visible but they’re now less noticeable. I have a 6th generation meaning I can't repeat the process for the front but you can buy the OEM front panels and glass for relatively cheap so that's not a problem.
