It's so good to have you back in the arty driving seat, Sunday's are not the same without sitting with you and having a fabulous time. Loved your pages, was a bit anxious about the blue and white, but once you put that gorgeous butterfly on the page is lifted it and it was perfect. Tfs xo

This popped up in my feed and I hadn’t seen it before. I have to tell you the last one you did with the wrapping paper, doilies and butterfly was really something and certainly my favorite. I can’t get over what a difference the wax added to the wrapping paper. How has the butterfly held up being under the elastic, it certainly was a perfect choice. Always love watching your new or old videos because I always come away with new tidbits of info. My problem is remembering them, lol. Patti

Good morning nina, so true, the first page is the hardest one, from there things will begin to flow and ideas will start to come. Loved your choice to have the blue and white doilies ( don't really know how to write this)... This morning a funny thing happened, a friend sended me a message asking me if I was awake already , then she added" or are you still in bed with nina?"( ha, ha). She knows me well. Now I am telling you..we got up and hope we are both going to have a nice sunday. Love and hugs lena xxx

Your pages are beautiful! Love the butterfly page. The blue and white was a great choice! I recently tried a napkin technique that Dee from BettsyDoodle shared. Paint some card stock with school glue and water or decoupage glue. Let it dry overnight, then iron the napkin on - turn stem off and sandwich between parchment paper. I used an old linen dish cloth and it worked beautifully. You probably already know this technique, but thought I would share just in case. TFS. 💐💌🙏

Hello Evelyn. Thanks for sharing that technique. I have not seen that done before, but it sounds like a great idea. I have seen it down with copier paper and Saran Wrap, but our wrap (cling film) as we call it here, doesn’t work as the plastic doesn’t melt. I will give this method a try. Hope you have a wonderful week ❤️

Beautiful pages, it always seems to come together perfectly. It is a pleasure each Sunday! I wonder, if you would share with us, how you normally proceed, when creating a page, do you start normally with a focal point, or do you rather choose the page? My focal points do not usually correspond with a page, and vice versa. By the way, you opened a pandora’s box with your reference books!! I am still buried under piles of paper that want a new home, but it was good to take everything out, and get reacquainted and put everything in a more accessible order. Thank you!
@NinaRibenaMixedMedia3 жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara, this is a hard one to answer because it varies from page to page, but let me try and explain how I went about these pages. For the first page, I tried to find something that tied in with the background page which was more challenging than I though. I found the scrapbook paper which has the same colours in it and I also found the tag whilst I was rummaging and the colours were perfect. Everything was a bit too busy, which was why I added the braille paper. For the second page, I had chosen the velum card as the focal image and worked from there. I flipped through the journal to find a plain page that I thought would do it justice. I then found the patterned purple paper in my Flowish journal and changed the ribbon to tie everything together. For the third page, I had pulled out the butterfly gift wrap and the napkin, so based the page around those. The colours and patterns were so pretty that I wanted to keep it simple, so again flipped through the Flowish journal to see what else I could find, which of course was the doilies and the butterfly which was cut from a wallpaper sample. I have to say the Flowish journal and the embellishment albums is making this process much easier. I hope that helps, but I will try and discuss this again in my next UYS video 💕
@barbarabuser3533 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your detailed answer. As I understand it, you do not have always the same go to, but let yourself be inspired by a picture, color or pattern, and take it from there.
