The bark of willow has the same acid that Asprin in made from. I do not know what the chemicals are in the boneset, which looks like Joe Pie weed. Sorry if you covered this, I had to walk away several times while the video played. Sorry Good stuff though. I am learly about mixing plants, but in this case is probably cool. Feeling rough, and can't sleep, you can also make a tea from Golden Rod leaves. They are a natural light sedative provided you are not alergic to it. So is Bee Balm, also known as bergamot. If you find it.

Hey @wildernessoutfitters , you should make a little handy-book that we can buy. Add a little old fashion paper on it (only the look cuz the quality would be very important if we take it with us into the wild), and add tips, drawings and more. That would be the most handy book we could have with us into the wild!

@adamanime2 he teaches survival skills in the back country, and dehydration commonly goes along with survival (unfortunately). But survival-wise, water ( and food) are your third priority, never intentionally stay dehydrated in the bush, always hydrate at every reasonable juncture

I've really enjoyed your tri-series and your medical plants and how you can get them from trees. Read about five six of your books about 10 of your pamphlet. Are you planning on making their special trees / medical book or pamphlet? I only be interested bushcraft & survival two years. So keep the books and videos coming and I will keep watching and referring them. Gingdah 🚶💀

If it's any consolation - a co-worker was telling me a story of trying a Chinese tea brought straight in from China for Martial-Arts training/health, and he states he started urinating a ton. Likewise, I bought a new (to me) loose-leaf tea (Lapsang souchong - it is smoked or burnt perhaps like you were saying the herbalist suggested the Boneset should be) and it, too, had that affect on me multiple times (hours later though, not within the hour) when I first drank it, but not anymore.

hello sir! jsut wanted to say somthing here! normal meds from doctors dont work on me they make me hyperactive, depressed and most of the time extreamly aggressive! but i had muscle aches and figured this would be a good thing to try! it workded amazingly but then last night i got extreamly hot and had strangely aggressive dreams (dont ask) this is just my warning to anyone going to try this to try it when your not in the woods or in a survival situation because that would be bad Aren,

First and foremost I respect your channel. Hence why I subscribe to it for the excellent knowledge. Just to clear things up, I am not saying boneset will kill you outright with a fever, just with a high fever it is possible. If you had a low grade fever 99-101F it could be beneficial, because that would cause your body to operate at higher temperatures that bacteria and viruses can't thrive in. Keep on truckin. God bless.

By-the-way, is there a wilderness equivalent to alcohol to make tinctures? I've heard of milk vodka, like the Mongols made, but don't know if it'd work (plus it'd be kind of hard to get the milk, anyway). Also, is it a good idea to try these smaller doses when you don't need them, to see how your body reacts? Would it do different things if you weren't needing it, or would it be like taking cough drops when you didn't need to?
