Great tips. Would add to check cranking batteries, you’ll find out the hard way if they’re weak when it’s cold. A windshield scraper for the boat is another tip shared with me

The Huron ohio ramp was terrible last late November my truck slid to water because the brawl guys run the trailers up so fast that the water in trailer froze the ramp area.

If i may add, keep your stearing and engine pivot points full of grease to displace water and carry s burnzsomatic toarch just to be sure. From an ol' lake Erie duck hunter we would carry a grease gun and do it after every trip and were always surprised how much water would work it's way in

love all this advice. Thanks all. To be clear, i just purchased a new Lund and i am paranoid over the new motor. I did have it winterized but wish i was still fishing. is 87 fuel and trimming the motor all the way down till it emptys enough to prevent any freezing issues to the motor?

Like we said make sure treated fuel is I'm tank and run into the motor. Outboards are meant to be self draining, but checking or changing the gear case Lube to make sure no water is I'm there is wise

What about live well lines ?

Short term I don't worry about it as most drain put and the pump just needs to cycle a touch bit to empty. Long term and for storage some rv antifreeze cycled through is all you need
