I've never had luck with dipsey divers. They pull hard on the rod and the release either doesn't trigger or triggers itself without a fish on. Idk I'm going to try them again this year since people seem to swear by them. Also, since I typically fish alone it's hard to real the fish in and net them at the same time with that long leader attached to the dipsy.
@Bigwaterfishing22 күн бұрын
Spend a little time adjusting the release just right and use braided line as the main line imo

Lot of variables.....but especially with a 1oz and wind you hook other things and often it might not have been the mouth the hook was in...wink wink

Here's my question..... With the big daddy size 3 dipsy diver, i normally alway took the ring off and had no problems figuring depth.. i just got a couple more and left the ring... now im confused cuz the chart doesn't seem right for the with ring numbers.... 0 setting 60 feet down it says 30 feet of line? How is a depth of 60 feet achieved with onlt 30 feet of line out?
@Bigwaterfishing25 күн бұрын
The ring will definitely give you some extra depth, but current and slight speed adjustments will drastically change the diving depth and why charts are just a basic guide line. The old ground and pound method or watching them on live sonar for depth can be helpful

Question though, how can I fill my main reservoir under the cowl? I was out on the water and heard a solid tone. I don't think its the thermostats because I believe that it's a 2 beep in sequence. I had forgotten about this since I have not been fishing in over a year dealing with talon issues. My first 225 had to have the main replaced since the sensor was acting up and tried to purchase the new sensor alone, but never would act right. Once I purchased a new tank then all was good to go. I tried to pull the small fill cap out, but something was holding it in.
@Bigwaterfishing26 күн бұрын
The small oil reservoir under the cowling is pressurized....slightly loosen it while the motor is running and it will fill quickly, then tighten. It's a messy and 2 person job but something you should only have happen once in a blue moon.
@JeremyReger27 күн бұрын
