As someone who works at Milwaukee: the blade is called flush cut. So u can cut flush to the floor. There are teeth in-between the regular teeth that stick out, so if the blade touches the concrete, the actual sharp teeth stay sharp.

Right Jordan….so a basic cut that can be made to perfection with a regular sawzall blade shouldn’t be a skill a prideful tradesman possesses? Why not use a flush cut saw or Japanese pullback saw? The answer is it’s not needed. Talk about making something outta nothing it’s a basic cut I was making at 12 years old with a sawzall. Imagine a complex construction issue?

Exactly bud you clearly know the technique you gotta cut from both sides…you guys just wanna spilt hairs. Is the whole length of your new super duper sawzall blade going to come into contact with the concrete floor ruining your blade quick and marking up the floor or are you gonna cut into your wood floor with your whole cutting edge? Ultimately it doesn’t matter right it just says a lot about a carpenter how they go about things…..I see guys with metal studs and plastic trim and hard hats and impact guns…..you are not a carpenter if you use any of those things. If I *don't precut,* I'm cutting through 99% of the 2x4 and then I get to the concrete, which is the part that damages my blade. If I *do pre cut* 66% through, I'm now cutting through 33% of the 2x4 *and then I get to the concrete,* which is the part that damages my blade. He demonstrated that the blade cut rather slowly. But if you notice the blade is significantly worn out, so of course it will cut slowly. All he has to do is simply buy a new one, and it'll cut far faster. Source, I'm an electrician.

I have this blade and it’s never caused me any problems. However, if you aren’t careful with the amount of pressure when you hit the floor, the two floor guards that protrude past the cutting teeth to protect them will wear down. This then causes the cutting teeth to wear and become blunt with subsequent cuts.

Blade works great. I have one. I don't, however, put it in a 12v plumbers saw. I use an actual 18volt reciprocating saw as intended. That was like watching an oscillating saw used to cut wall studs during framing.

I like the blade .he just doesn't know what we dealt with when they first came out with the saws all. The carbide blades are awesome.

It's a flush cut blade. You can use it like that but, it's made for more specific purposes.

Some of y'all have never turned your sawzall upside down... You can put a regular blade upside-down turn your sawzall upside down and it will cut flush and flat and low.

Let's not forget that the blade hangs lower so you can get to the floor without having to put the Sawzall at an angle where the tip eventually will come in contact w the concrete before the rest of the blade gets all the way through the wood. Thanks for showing me an awsome blade I will probably buy. 👏 👏 👏

I understand not adding a plug option on smaller high power consumption cordless tools where size matters, gotta fit the converter, plug, and whatnot in there somewhere. But for bigger, less portable, lower power draw tools like this, I think an AC port should be standard across all brands.

Usually you don’t wait until you’ve used a blade so long the paint is worn off, before critiquing it as useless lol.

I think the point is he takes a blade calls it useless and shows how useful it is.... I will say I dont do framing for a living but when I do I just pre cut part way through from the back before installing the wall. You're already there nailing and everyone has their circular saw around so you just toss it up on a bucket and zip zip leave about 1/4 to hold it together and it makes those cuts super clean. Otherwise I'm sure we've all had the occasion where we had to deal with a lip towards the floor poking out or splintered cuts and of course that shows up at the worst time like when you're trying to install tile underlayment or you have a doorjamb mostly installed but there is a stupid floor plate sticking out.

Reciprocating saws have short stroke. In horizontal cut of a wide piece of wood chips accumulate between teeth preventing them from biting into wood so the blade is not cutting. Just move the saw horizontally back and forth slowly to let the sawdust escape and it will be cutting just fine all the way through.

The thing thats useless is that sawzall. Basically anything thats good for (as a framer) is better done by a multitool. Get a full size sawzall (i like the big milwaukee best but any full size will do) and that would've been a breeze

If you didn't notice thats not a real recip saw its only the mini 12v.. it did very well considering .what I'd like to know is why is there's 2 bottom plates and a double stud next to a post ? And wtf, Don't think I've ever seen 6 nails in the end of a 2x4 without splitting 😂

I don't get it? Are you really saying it's useless, or are you saying that it's just not very efficient, or what? Seems as though you could use a normal blade until you get down closer to the ground and switch once you've gotten what you can't cut with a normal blade?

It says “flush cut” on the blade… and that’s what it delivered… proof most contractors/workers can’t read 😂😭 I’m a general contractor (a young one at that) and I work with a lot of workers of various ages that say lots of things are useless but they don’t understand that some things are made for specific purposes…. Long story short, this is why I usually only ever buy general purpose blades of various power tools 😂🍺 I forgot to mention but he also used a Hackzall to cut wood… Milwaukee created the Hackzall for plumbers in mind (at least that what it feels like) so it cuts wood slower than it’s big Zawzall brother

It’s actually very useful the blade size is to keep the blade straight and it don’t walk sideways second it has cutting teeth that are smaller than the other teeth so when it hits concrete it doesn’t dull the cutting teeth

If he placed the metal backstop against the beam, he would have cut a nice smooth clean cut. Notice he is about two inches away from the beam.

A normal recip blade wont go flat to the floor like that, so you can still make the cut like this with a dragging motion however the tip dulls super fast.. blade wont last long with this cut against concrete
@CarpenterJake
@CarpenterJake Жыл бұрын
This has nothing to do with the depth of the cut. It's so the blade lays flat against the wall and the cut is smooth vertically. It has nothing to do with the downward cut but the surface the blade rides on.
