Jorah and little lady Mormont are my 2 favorite characters. Dany is an idiot for not choosing Jorah for her husband! He shed his last drop of blood defending her and saved her life directly over 10 times. Whereas Jon, that she chose, murdered her. Jorah would never have done that!
@Shannon-vv6rr3 ай бұрын
@@elessartelcontar9415I think so too. Thing is they changed Jorah for the better from his book counterpart as a total creep to Dany to someone that loved her purely and she's older in the show. So D and D just kept him as her follower to keep that continuity but made him an honourable man at the same time. They should've just had her marry Jorah, plus his house has loyal badasses and he'd never hurt Dany. Dany would love Little Lyanna too. Plus then she'd marry into the North.

@notoyaarthur19903 ай бұрын
Nice catch! Just goes to show u that loyalty is freely given when it is earned. It should not be expected just as a birthright. Dany should've realised this after her previous dealings with her brother. The Dothraki and unsullied followed her ONLY after she had proved herself to them. She'd never proved anything to the northern men, and we all know how seriously the north takes their oaths, but they're loyalty is reserved to their own. She never should've expected the same love adoration she got in mereen coz she hadn't yet earned it.
@annageorge19923 ай бұрын
@@notoyaarthur1990Yeah, she only took the army she built on her own and ber dragons to face the white walkers. That's nothing, huh.
@notoyaarthur19903 ай бұрын
@annageorge1992 she took down a mutual threat. The whitewalkers, were as much a threat to her rule as they were to the north. Helping someone when it's only convenient to u or directly benefits u doesn't exactly prove ur dependability or devotion. As far as I see it, she would've been the queen of corpses if she hadn't. So that alone doesn't earn her their devotion and loyalty, which is why the north quickly rallied back under a Stark and demanded to have John back even after he killed her. They didn't care that she'd helped them defeat the walkers or exact vengeance on the lannisters. Granted, that was in part due to sloppy writing, so take it with a grain of salt. Be that as it may, in watching more and more of these in depth analysis of the books (not reading them until Martin finishes the damn series), I've surmised that north men r extremely loyal to the starks and to their own. So in this regard the show does somewhat accurately portray how the north would respond to Dany, i.e. absolute loyalty/devotion would not be a guarantee, she'd need to do more to earn it, because they would more sooner support one of their own over an outsider.
@annageorge19923 ай бұрын
@@notoyaarthur1990 Yes, they were facing a mutual threat but she could have chosen to be like Cersei and refused to fight. She could have thought, let them die, Night King is another enemy. She trusted Jon and set aside their differences even before he bent the knee. And seriously, North men are loyal? I felt Northmen weren't loyal but racist. Not many houses in the North supported Starks when they lost power. They forgot their vow to the Starks and the Bear Island were a few exceptions. Northerners believed the threat of Night walkers when they came face to face with it. They accepted the wildings when they needed their help. They accepted Dany when they needed help but once their requirement is over, they decide to switch loyalties. They were awful to the wildings too. And helping with mutual benefit is what everyone did there. Jon, Sansa and wildings were all fighting for themselves as much as they were fighting to protect others. And North didn't demand for Jon's freedom, he was sent to the Night's watch remember? He never became the king in the North though he was selected and though he was a Stark and a male.

@user-zz2bc3sd7m Entirely false. Dany was never the one to let people influence her towards cruelty? Of course she wasn't because she was always the one people had to counsel AGAINST burning everything to the ground. Her FIRST promise as Khaleesi was that people's enemies would die screaming. But let's look beyond that. The next thing she did was threaten the ENTIRE city of Qarth if they didn't let her in the gates of the city. Even in Mereen they were counseling her not to straight slaughter people and to give them chances at redemption. Jon never did anything to gain the Northerner's respect? Let's look beyond being the "son" of Ned Stark. He joined the Night's Watch. He ranged beyond the Wall and infiltrated the wildling army that led to VITAL info in repelling Mance Rayder's attack. He led a party against the mutineers that betrayed and murdered Lord Commander Mormont. He took command of an army of less than 100 Night's Watch members when Aliser Thorne went down and fought til they won the Battle of Castle Black. He fought the Night's King at Hardhome trying to save thousands of the Free Folk from the Army of the Dead. He was killed for showing that compassion to the Free Folk and then still, with help from Sansa and The Knights of the Vale, fought and took the North back from Ramsay Bolton. Then he showed compassion and forgiveness and fairness to the young rulers of Houses Umber and Karstark and refused to punish them for the crimes of their older relatives. Finally, yes he DID bend the knee to Daenerys to SAVE LIVES. Thst is what he accomplished. Did Daenerys do anything that was NOT self-serving to her cause? Would she have knelt and given up her power for the good and safety of others? Face facts, Daenerys was a villain in the end. The writing was rushed, but she became exactly what she was always meant to become. There were TWO Targaryens left in Westeros at the beginning of season 7 and Dany got the TAILS end of sanity.

I wonder...I wonder what it would have been like, if Viserys had been younger. We've seen that Targaryen women are only made heirs when there are no boys for ages. What if Dany had been 5 and Viserys the stormborn baby? In the book Dany is 13 & Viserys 18. What if she had been 18 & Viserys 13? Still young enough to be willing to be taught? Still young enough to become a Dothraki in his heart, tutored by his sister's husband? Dany would have lost Rhaego anyway, even without the witch. Imagine 18yo Dani being old enough & suspicious enough not to trust the witch, and knowing enough herb-lore to tend Drogo's wound herself. Imagine 13yo Viserys, in Dothraki leathers and learning the bow & arakh, being made Drogo's heir presumptive until Dany was able to have a child who didn't die from the blood of the dragon. Imagine Viserys as blood-rider to Dany's second son. Imagine Viserys and the little khal killed by a Baratheon assassin, and the eggs hatching on their pyre, still looking to Dany as mother, but now they are named for her husband and her sons, and her third son is named Visego for her little brother.

Your imaginings lack some cultural accuracy that would make them possible. Rhaegar was heir until he died just before Daenerys birth. If the age swap was as you imagine Viserys would be born right after Rhaegar's death and would be the rightful heir. Even if he was born years later he would still be seen at the rightful heir and not Daenerys, being male. Rhaenrya's situation was different because her father was alive to name her heir despite being a woman and ask other lords to pledge fealty to her. Also, Khals don't have heirs the way you described so Viserys being Drogo's heir is impossible. As is Daenerys' imagined 2nd son being a young Khal after Drogo's death. You didn't specify what happened to Drogo in your idea, but the Khalasar would either be taken over by one of the stronger riders or it would split up as it did on the show. It's not the Dothraki way to follow a little boy because his father was the prior Khal; they follow strength. And in this scenario Dany doesn't even have dragons yet so they're not following her.

Viserys didn't get enough credit. He did remarkably well keeping him and his sister alive even if the pressure of it all eventually got to him. He could've come back from getting played if he just waited.

Imagine Viserys I seeing Viserys III bro would be absolutely distraught that his name has been passed down to this guy 😂
@Smartguy-22Ай бұрын
He wasn’t really that bad. Not compared to Cersei, Joffrey, Ramsey, and other royalty. Yes, he mistreated his sister. But otherwise he was mostly just naive and entitled. And he had reason to be entitled. And angry. I remember him extending grace to Mormont. He would have been a typical king had he won.

@@honeyimhomewhoopdude I’m pretty sure Danny even says he was actually a good brother just in moments when talking about their home he got sad and weird like he was happy then his mother died but he lost hope when they sold her last object so he becomes so he’ll end on making it back bc that’s was in his eyes the reason his mother died for them to make it to the throne and rule and avenge his family . Danny tho is then given what he is promised right away. In the books dorne actually wants to marry him off to his daughter well the Martell but dorne is in full support they fucking hate what happen to their queen or princesses and they want to avenge her so badly. One thing I will say is dorne is more united than apart than the seven kingdoms. So viersey theoyically could have been training in dorne when Danny got married.

See this is the whole reason Daenerys was written poorly in season 8. Why on earth would she become so cutthroat and entitled when the brother who tormented her was JUST LIKE THAT!

Uhh... 1 egg = 1 ship? That's the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals. Feed the dragon and eventually you get a ship that can fly and destroy an entire city.

Back when the writing was great. “Here you stand” an obvious play on the Mormont house words. The writing was once filled with stuff like this, until it became rushed.

Remember that at that point in the Story, for all intents and purposes, the Dragon eggs were never going to hatch and were 200 years old fossiles. The only reason Daenerys manages to hatch them is through blood magic ( the life of her son, the life of the Witch, and the life of Khal Drogo ) and fire.

A true Targaryen wouldn't freaking sell the dragon eggs.
@anjelica9483 ай бұрын
To be fair, everyone believed they were petrified into stone, so I don’t think anyone, even a Targaryen, would expect them to hatch. They only hatched on Drogo’s pyre because of blood magic and Dany’s unwavering self belief.
