Armor Shield IX, from Avalon King, is a DIY ceramic coating. There are many videos on prep and application. Preparation is key to good results. I applied Armor Shield IX to my 2018 R1200RT. The results are as good as Avalon King claims. Cleaning the bike is much easier and it looks like it's been freshly waxed after every wash. I highly recommend it for any DIYers.

Bike looks great afterwards, and I was suprised at the discount offered - £100 seems like a very good deal, especially for someone like me who doesnt enjoy cleaning my bikes, i prefer to ride and have somone else clean mine lol glad my dad has OCD with cleaning. And totally agree a dealer can be so rushed I would always use a dedicated aftermarket company as they require certain skills, attitude towards what they do and even down to temperature the product is applied in has to be right.

Ceramic coating is great for keeping the paint looking good but provides little protection against those flying bits of debris that seems be be getting more prevalent everyday. As a result I had my last 3 bikes wrapped in M3. My current bike a K1600b, with the crazy sola system transfer application had it applied by Russ at Invisible patterns in Leigh. He did a fantastic job and the bikes body really has been protected against those little chips. I had it done then went on a 12 day tour of Scotland with my wife on the back. When I got back I thoroughly cleaned the bike and it’s as good as the day it was delivered. M3 does have some issues but for me it’s really done what it said on the tin. Ironically the price is about the same as the ceramic coating and the prep is the same. It’s horses for courses really. I’ve had ceramic on previous bikes as part of a purchase package, but it’s not something I would just get done, but that’s me.

Hi Kate, not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I would seriously recommend that you consider fitting a mudsling to your GS. Sold by Nippy Norman and really helps to keep the back of your bike, boots and legs cleaner. Had one on my 1200GS and it was the best accessory I’ve ever fitted to a bike.

I was born in Dronfield 54 years ago and have lived in the North East for 30 years now- fab video I knew all the roads you were on and it was great to see the familiar sites as you came back through Holmesfield and out into Derbyshire. Had my GS done there towards the end of last year. Time will tell as to whether it's good value for money, but I concur that the customer service there is excellent. Interesting to hear your comments about the comparison with the dealer-based application. What I find reassuring about Supremecoat is the transparency of the process. Congratulations on spending 6 hours in Meadowhell without losing your s**t!

I myself can say on the dealer solution. Is that it’s about as good as that spray can you can buy ( ACF 50 ) although you don’t get debris stuck on the bike. Supreme coat you should find that any road scum just falls off. Using there own foam and shampoo will also help to get 100 Satisfaction. I do use there products, where as before that unused dirt devil. That was good but not as good as there own.

Do you have to manufacturers of your own product ? Please Do tell.I mean yes there are products out there for less… But does those product give a life time guarantee? Do they protect the vehicle for as long. Just think. If this product failed. Then it would be re applied time and time again for free. Hence life time guarantee.. But also there is the pride in application also. Not just the product. Do you have this ? M perhaps you do. Or perhaps you just apply your product that you use. I suppose easy money. Have you taken a degree in production of a chemical compound to apply on anything ? It’s not just bought in from a supplier. It’s actually designed, produced and applied. From Supremecoat. Hence the supreme in Supremecoat…..

Great video, Kate. If I had a bike worth coating I'd make an effort to get up there and have it done. My family originally come from that part of the country and it's sort of my spiritual home, love going back to Chesterfield to see the remnants of my family, this would be a perfect excuse to kill two birds with the same stone. Alas I fear that it's only the dirt holding my bike together so best not risk taking any of it off! 😆 Maybe it's time for a new bike?

I had my previous bike coated by a different company. Not a bad job but I don’t think they cleaned it as well as they should. I am now considering Supremecoat on my new bike, especially as there is a good discount code on here. It does look like they do a good job and make a good effort of cleaning it.

Mmm, the results look amazing, then again after six hours cleaning and doing the coating it should do. The main downside for me is the time it takes, I'm a bloke and, spending more than an hour or so wandering around shops is my idea of hell! Lol.

So basically I’m just saying this product if you was able to get it, would protect your machine. I know a few that have had it done. As I’ve said in another comment somewhere, that I’m now even going to get my car done. This company also sells its washing products. Not the ceramic. But even these are the companies own ingredients… he has them manufactured one in the uk and one abroad.. basically I’m repeating myself in this comment to another. I’ve used others before I came across Supremecoat, and not a patch. Yes the treatment and procedure might seem expensive. But work out, how many times might you have to have it done with other products ? So a one time £350 or several £60 treatments ???

Bike looks fab, but £350 is a crazy price , if you spent the even half of the 6 hours plus your travelling time cleaning your own bike and using a ceramic coating product pretty sure you would get your bike as clean.

Not at all. If you read comments. I’ve had two bikes done. One was for off road. It came clean every time. This second bike will soon be being used off road. But so far up to now. A rinse off a snow foam and a rinse off. Clean and gleaming. No scrubbing. Product is manufactured in the uk and abroad. Has is own team of chemistry that manufactures a special blend to create a homogeneous… Hence why he boast a 10 year guarantee on a new vehicle, and a 7 year on a used. So just think. A 10 and or a 7 year guarantee. Can not back out of that… ?

The results are Infront of you mate, I've had mine over a year with off roading and a lot of very nasty conditions, made my cleaning a doddle and given me peace of mind. @@quinnpeaksbiker likewise. I had mine done straight from the dealers to Supreme coat. Which is a year and three months since. I’ve washed it only three times. Once being today. Plus been out with salt and grease on the roads. It’s a shame we can’t put photos on here. But I basically just rinsed off the loose, snow foamed the bike. Waited a few minutes. Then shampooed it, and rinsed off… Then just blow dried the bike. Looks good as new.

I bought my 2019 GSA from a BMW dealer last October (no naming and shaming), they did a ceramic coating for free for me, they normally charge £500, when the bike was delivered I looked under the rear mudguard and it was filthy, removed the seats and found the frame and everything filthy, everything outside easy to get at looked amazing but you didn't have to dig far to find the bike hadn't even had a decent basic wash and clean, I would have been seriously pissed off if I'd actually paid them £500 for that.

Customer had his helicopters coated with a nano coat to protect them on the back of his yachts. Yes I'm using plural. 9K per aircraft for a bloke with a little bottle and a special rag. You then could only use their special shampoo to clean them. They came clean easily, but not to VVIP standard in my opinion. After 3 months we broke out the aircraft soap to get them clean. waste of money.
