Manly tears were shed, while this author is quite old (80s) his stuff is getting proper adaptations only recently! He also made the currently being animated Karakuri Circus, but the anime isn't as good as the manga for that one.

Just started watching this one. Real wholesome old school shonen vibes. Likeable characters, great dynamic between Ushio and Tora, cool humour (Tora shines) and some neat horrorish moments. I feel like the story's gonna get better, thus far it's episodic. I noticed a lot of influence on other, big shonens.

The only reason I can say why this anime is underrated is because the lack of fanservice. No melon nor pretty boy. Plot story wise, it’s not as edgy or unique as other shounen but I like it better than most of other famous shounen. Toga’s character is very likeable, if the mangaka make him as hot human-like youkai, then this would probably get more popular.

I think Tora looks awesome even though he has a beast like appearence. I think that's one part of him that makes him unique. If he looked human he would look just like some weird creep when he tries to Sneak up on people to eat them. Haha. I think it's good that he looks the way he does. It makes Them a cool Duo.

Back when Mappa wasn't popular. They actually got under a radar after doing Dororo and got popular with Jujutsu Kaisen. At least in the majority of people. They did Hajime no Ippo if i recall correctly.
