This is legit how I got started in beatcrafting! I had Magix Music Maker for PS2 when I was like 14, very basic, but functional. It sparked a hobby going strong here 15 years later

Music 2000 was insane, especially because you were able to import the projects from "Music" (predecessor). Only thing that really sux is when you record your own sounds (yes thats possible), it can easily exceed the memory card space very easily. Thx to music 2000 i found the taste in making music.

Impulse Tracker is what I was on when Music 2000 came out. On the Official UK Playstation magazine (with the playable demo disc) they featured some of the origional songs submitted by readers. There is one I would like to track down to this day. I had terrible internet so this seemed the only way to have access to a scene (and audience).

So there was this old program which was designed to rope kids into music composition and production called 'Dance E-Jay', it was used in a lot of high schools (including mine) and ironically, I remember it being pretty hard to make anything good in it. It'd be pretty funny to see you make a beat in this, just as a video suggestion 👍
@HaydenX6 жыл бұрын
e-Jay actually did have an awesome selection of pre-made songs though. Mellowrize Remix is of particular note.

The original "Music" is how i started making music for real. After that it was Music 2000 wich allowed sampling. I loved it so much that i continued using it for pc, wich allowed for larger samples, altough there was obviously much better choices for music making on pc. Changed my life!

This game is simultaneously a giant leap forward and a giant leap back. All the samples sound much better and the memory gain means you can make songs 20x times bigger and/or more complex, but they've taken away so much from what you can actually do with individual notes. The interface is clunky and it isn't obvious how you access stuff. They should have kept the interface from MUSIC 2000 and just built upon it. They've basically casualised it. I only recently found out that you can actually pan stuff, but you can only do it with the samples and not the individual notes. Such a shame because this could have been so much more.

Unbelievable but true, like you said at the end of the video the ps1 version is way better than the ps2 version, you actually can work with music 2000, I've seen super complex creations that sounds completely amazing with music 2000, check for this "Robert Miles - Children (remix made on playstation psx)" as an example... I don't think make something like this is possible with the ps2 version.

It's a sequel of Rytmik Ultimate which was on the 3DS. Both of these versions are available on Steam. it'll be interesting to see use it if you have the time. This was really good but the best music maker is on the PS1, Music maker 2000, that was made by the legendary Jester, I would love to see what you can do with music 2000, unfortunately the game don't run well on PS3, you need a ps1, ps2 or to emulate music 2000 if you want to make music properly.
