The Rainbow was originally designed as an air purifier when it came out in 1935. Its main purpose today is still to clean the air. We have attachments such as the power nozzle (carpet attachment) because the DRY methods people use to clean actually make the air quality much worse in your home. The high setting filters 9' by 10' room in 10 minutes leaving you with 99.9% clean air. You would think that who ever made this video would have researched this before hand. Also we have had 9 different models since we came out with the 1935 Rainbow.

Thanks for the comment! Yes the Air Purifying mode on the Rainbow is quiet and people really like that feature. My point of the video we made is that instead of putting those extra hours on your 2000 dollar vacuum consider using a 200 dollar air purifier and use the Rainbow for vacuuing. We sell a lot of the 2 speed Rainbows and they are a great product. If you get a chance go to our website and leave that exact review on one of the 2 speeds. I think that would be very helpful.

@weiland1988 - Thanks for the great point :) Some Rainbow sales people try to say its first and foremost a air purifier but in its present state its primarily a vacuum that can also be used as a air purifier. In 1998 Rainbow added HEPA filter to the Rainbow. Why? Because water does not filter the very fine particles which is why they added the HEPA. But nearly 100 years ago it was probably the best concept around for filtering the air.

Patti thats a great point which is why we sell Rainbows starting in the 300's rebuilt and with our 5 year motor warranty and 30 day money back. We believe the Rainbow is a superior product and really try to do all we can to make them affordable. If you want one with the HEPA filter they are as low as 700. A disposable vacuum made in China for 200 dollars every 2 years, you will be money ahead buying a Rainbow. Rainbow owners swear by their vacuums, you might want to give it a chance :)

Rainbow are made to be run 24/7 all year long for many years. They designed it with a brushless motor so it going to last very long. The new rainbow e2 black is also asthma and allergy certified. Thats true Patti :) However some people (like me) have severe allergies to dust and allergens. Where they have a hard time breathing. Its nice to have something in our living quarters where it brings relief & is enjoyable. The Rainbow can help that in 2 ways. Many times our carpets act as giant sponges for allergens. The vacuums we use are not deep cleaners & push around those allergens. With the Rainbow being a powerful deep cleaner as well as air purifier it helps. Thanks Dustin

The first day I vacuumed with my rainbow I DID NOT SNEEZE! I love it and yes I run it on high for a stronger air cleaner, I just go outside and do things and come back in and my house smells amazing! By the way I always laughed because I said my vacuum looks like it needs to be vacuumed LOL Bye, bye, Shark da doot to doo doo doo doot to doo BYE BUY SHARK!

You should let people know that the "air purifier" that uses "ionization" is actually an ozone generator. It is well known by the EPA and the scientific community that ozone is toxic and causes lung tissue damage at high concentrations. You should disclose that information. Also, the manual for that model from new comfort that you are demonstrating explains that you should NOT use the ozone feature while in your house and to make sure to ventilate the area before breathing the air. With that said its best to just use a standard HEPA filter and save $ on your electricity bill instead of paying to generate a toxic substance. Some do not read the manual when they buy products. I posed this comment so someone does not accidentally kill their cat or dog by leaving the ozone generator on while they are gone... Here are some links to find safe, lab tested purifiers: www.arb.ca.gov/research/indoor/ozone.htm www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/ozonegen.html#table%201
@Sin928ply10 жыл бұрын
Does a Rainbow use ionization??
@gpelite10 жыл бұрын
sinful928 No, Rainbow does not use ionization. It uses ONLY water source as a main filter and a HEPA rear exhaust filter (which on most e series are washable)
@violetmei99319 жыл бұрын
Paige Mihalik Agree with you. Ionizer cannot be used especially people with asthma.
@nakatov6 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but what you decide is not so. everything depends on the concentration of ozone if you use a .01%, the effect is the opposite. if everything that produces an electric arc leaves ozone. the office photocopier too. the ionizers, for example the ionic pro leaves a residue of .02%. what happens is that ozonizers that in turn ionize the minimum level of ozone is .05%. if the power is something else. but if you use it with a certain ventilation to an ionizer there is no problem. otherwise I could not be writing this for a long time. What you do not have to do is not use it outside of what the manual says. if you operate properly, you do not have it because you have problems. It is more, for ozonation of a room. I leave a ventilation, I put a timer plug with a while before leaving and I return hour or more after that I cut automatically. When I arrive there is no ozone residue. I use the ionizer low and with ventilation and it works correctly without problems. What you should not do is let the ozone residue accumulate in large quantities in a closed room where you are. that's it. As I said at first, everything depends on the level of concentration to which you are exposed.
@TrooperSam6 жыл бұрын
I'd say if you want one of those ozone generator air systems, you'd better have a filter to catch all of the dust that gets dragged down by the negative ion charge. It's gonna get on EVERYTHING. As for running an E2 all the time, it's a brushless motor. It's made for super long duty cycles. I run ours every night as we sleep, and my wife has been sleeping better as a result. It may be in part to the humidity that the machine adds to the room, but it's definitely catching things in the water that I can see when I empty it.
@GreatVacsCOM12 жыл бұрын
Great Point Paul. Now if your going to use a Rainbow as your primary household vacuum we dont suggest you use it for drywall dust. Drywall dust and fireplace ash are 2 things that usually dont get picked up by the water in the filtration process. So it ends up coating your fans inside the vacuum and filling up your HEPA filter faster. Just last week we had someone email us that did this and want us to take their Rainbow apart and clean all the drywall dust out.
@lcbaltus115 жыл бұрын
I agree with this. We got a rainbow vacuum two weeks ago. I have horrible allergies before the rainbow we were using a regular air purifier. I was thinking rainbow was the replacement to that. It doesn’t filter the air enough to help my allergies. It does an amazing job vacuuming, but in terms of air purifying It’s not enough for me.

Ya what happens if it breaks down, if you purchased it from Craigslist then it didn't come with a warranty, Rainbow never sales online, therefore if you purchased it online brand new then it was for sure stolen, and if anybody ever checks the serial number on the side of the machine and it comes up stolen, then you will be in possession of stolen goods. food for thought.
@TrooperSam6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, because nobody EVER sells their personal property online. It's ALWAYS stolen, right? Damn those tweakers stealing vacuums for drug money! The tweaker I bought mine from (I've never met a tweaker in his seventies dressed nicely and driving a nice car and living in a retirement community before!) even stole the boxes with it, and gave them to me as part of the sale! He even stole the receipt with his NAME on it! Man, that's just not bright. Heck, you don't even need a warranty with an E2. They're dead simple to work on. Parts are easily available, and surprisingly inexpensive. The motor price isn't even bad, though the controller is a bit steep at nearly $300, but that's about it. I paid $350 for mine used, and I'm pretty happy about it.

I don't sell Rainbows personally, I'm just a vacuum collector that works in a vacuum store, not a Rainbow dealer, and I really do believe these live up to the claims Rexair makes about them. I have terrible allergies too and I have at times noticed a difference in the smell of the air as I use it. My only issue with running the Rainbow on low speed as an air cleaner is that it doesn't really seem to cause the same bubbling action in the water.
@winux6 жыл бұрын
Rainbows exhaust water vapor. You can easily test this yourself with a 10 dollar humiditiy tester. Let it run a while you will see humidity go up. Which humidity will bring down dust, etc, My problem with this is, and with cleaning. Once the water starts to get dirty, you're exhauting dirty vapor out.

So I don't think the water is really being used to clean the air. I've also noticed the HEPA filter on mine gets dirty when I do use it on los speed just sitting there. On both my 1 speed model I've honestly never had to change the HEPA filter, as its never got dirty, and as long as you use the machine properly and keep the separator clean I'm convinced these things will filter everything out in the water. But I guess what my conclusion here is that I don't think low speed filters as well.
@gaylover21112 жыл бұрын
Does that air purifier have water or just filters? Because those air purifiers have tiny holes that are going to let through particles that you or I can't see that is just a waste of time and energy to just move the air. The Rainbow is designed originally to clean the air. Its an air purifier before a vacuum and the E2 has a brushless motor so nothing to wear out on it. :)
@colenedrow10 жыл бұрын
Do you wonder why those air purifiers he uses as examples need 6 stages of filtration? Because they aren't using water. No. They are not more effective at cleansing the air. Cole Nedrow what can water filter? I think only dust not other particles smaller than dust. Most of the air purifier has the HEPA filter with at least 0.3 micro, the best is Atmosphere with 0.009 micro can even filter virus, bacteria, dioxin etc.. Honestly, Rainbow cant do that.

@FrankATracy10 жыл бұрын
The ozone feature of units like these are best used with windows and doors closed and while you, your family and pets are not at home, because they can cause mucous membrane and respiratory irritation. Buy a cheap timer at a hardware store and set it to turn off the ozone unit two hours before you get home. (This is according to one of my owner's manuals). Upon entering your house open all windows in the areas affected for a short time. This is what we have done and have had great success. These types of units can be bought brand new on eBay or Amazon for about $120. They all work pretty much the same, except some units offer more filtering options. Remember to read your owner's manual thoroughly. One of the best things you can do is to download several different owners manuals/user guides in pdf format. Some will give much better and accurate info than others. Hope this helps.

I'm in Hong Kong cooking asian food and pan grill steak plus dogs and I have the E2 model. To give you a honest experience, NO it do not help to remove smell, the best way is let the range hood run for another 15 mins after your cooking plus light up a candle and mop the floor. Good Luck!
@gpelite10 жыл бұрын
Mamako0 Rainbow explicitly states smoke, ash, drywall plaster are un-wettable and will not we able to be water filtered. It will help the smell but for immediate relief you need to put on high vac mode. However the entire filtration will be done with your HEPA and will "fill it up faster" leading to sooner replacement. If you scent the water with something, everything you smell of that scent is the new air your rainbow is putting out. That way you know it is working. Also oil particles in the air with cooking are best filtered by your range hood as it is designed with carbon and wire collection to capture the oils and smoke depending on your quality of filter. A hood honestly should be able to capture your cooking related smell issue so maybe the hood is avg build or filters are clogged and full. The have to be constantly cleaned and replaced. airborne oil and water do not mix inside a rainbow well and may also clog the HEPA filter quicker over time. -Source, I own 2 e series and used to work with a major appliance retailer that also included sales of performance kitchen hoods. If you reallllllllly want to try with the rainbow again use a cut to fit carbon filter and put it between the exhaust and the HEPA filter, it will help with some odor left behind. I will try to post a video in which you can create your own custom filter for the unit using an old filter canister in the coming months. This way you could potentially do a high carbon based filter for your exact need of odor control.

That would be an interesting test. I am afraid if you ran it 24/7 it would not last nearly as long. All motors are rated to last a certain number of hours. On average people vacuum their home 1 hour a week or about 52 hours a year. A average vacuum motor is rated for about 300 hours or about 6 years. If your ran that same vacuum for 24/7 it would last 12.5 days. See the difference? Now the Rainbow is a superior product with a better motor but you get the point :)

To all who are wondering what the rainbow actually does in air purification mode, I am running the unit exclusively in low speed air mode for a week straight. I will then give my feedback on my channel and a review on what I experienced. Subscribe to keep updated on it.

i sell the rainbow air purifier, im just telling you this to correct you, you can use this air purifier as a vacuum. Back in 1936 when the rainbow was created it was sold to hospitals to filter the air, the later design was built to have a Vacuum attachtment

I miss my Rainbow. After 30 years it stopped powering up. I should have had it checked and refurbished. Instead I bought one of those vacuums with the roller ball and a filter. It wasn't cheap and I hated it so much I gave it away. I miss the clean air after Rainbow-ing. My advice to anyone is to look around for a deal, maybe get a refurbished Rainbow and make payments, because it will last 20 years and your rooms will never be cleaner.

If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. kzbin.infoUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

This guy is sooo out of touch with what the rainbow is its not funny. I've owned the new model Rainbow(not shown here in the video) for awhile now and its well worth the purchase! First and foremost the rainbow is an air filtration system, not a vacuum, it is literally the only air filter on the market that delivers 100% pure clean air, i guarantee that his little $200.00 unit cant perform that well. Don't waste your time people, with cheap imitations, do your homework and buy a real Rainbow, they last a lifetime and only cost .15 cents per day to clean the air in your home, as well as everything else in your home as well, schedule to have a company rep come over to your home and explain how it all works. It doesn't cost you anything and there is no obligation to buy anything. When I had a Rainbow rep come over to my home I loved the experience, and of course I purchased one from her. I would never buy any type of dry filtration again in my life now that I have seen the difference made by wet filtration.

I'd say one of the ion/ozone units would work very well together with a Rainbow. The negative ion charge would take the particles out of the air and stick them to surfaces, and the Rainbow could be used to pick them up from there.
@fractally6 жыл бұрын
I agree. And I don't think you have to run it all the time either! Once a day for an hour, in each 500 square feet of your house, is plenty clean enough air for most people. I do think using distilled water is better, so that the minerals found in regular water don't disperse.
@kathyknittle85375 жыл бұрын
@Sizzling Grill it does the job of a vacuum but technically it's far better than a vacuum. It's a home cleaning system, you get all the attachments you'll never need even a mop again.

I think the Rainbow does a great job when its vacuuming and when its purifying the air. Is an excellent product. I do not think runing a rainbow all day is a problem(they are made for that).

If all you are worried about is purifying the air you can get 2 rainmates for free just for letting us demonstrate the product to you....I work for Rexair and there are no online dealers that are authorized to sell rainbows the only way to get one is by one of our agents coming to your home....and also the rainbow is first and foremost an air purifying system them can be a vacuum with the attachments not the other way around so your statement is invalid
@soldatheero5 жыл бұрын
that is one damn expensive air purifier then.. and I think that was his point. they just make the attachments separate as to force people into selling the vacuums for them and if you don't you can't use a 3 thousand dollar machines full potential.

That's the thing, when buying a NEW rainbow this makes some bit of sense when you spend 2500 and want to offset motor hours. I bought 2 e series rainbows with full kits for under 500. One I use solely for air purification because I had to ditch my ozone creating one, health hazard is too high. Water and HEPA is a simple tried and true combo. I will do a vid at some point for an e2 on solely air purification performance as I get used to the units I just got.

Great vacuum, AWFUL "air purifier". It just produces white noise, don't expect this to "clean" any air. Sure my toaster COULD cook a hot dog, but that is not its purpose.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!! Dude test your filter Queen side by side with a Rainbow, Rainbow wins every time, you cant get better results with a dry filtration than wet filtration, it's not possible, wet filtration wins every time, think about it, the planet uses water to clean herself, it's a universal cleanser, not a man made dry filter full of holes that has been scientifically proven to spread filth and disease around the home, people please do your homework.

I actually had a kirby before I got a rainbow. I cleaned my floors ALOT the night before my demo and made sure we stayed out of the house until my demo. I wanted it clean. During my demo he got up SO much dirt from AFTER the Kirby. He even had me do 52 strokes with kirby, to represent vaccuming for a year, assuming you vac once a week. After me vaccuming the night before, and then the 52 stroke on top of that all with my kirby, he did TWO strokes with the rainbow over the exact same spot that I did the 52 and the amount of dirt he got up blew my mind. Kirby really really sucks. Want to really put your foot in your mouth? Shine a bright spotlight on the bag of your kirby when you turn it on.. Keep that light attached the whole time you vacuum and see how long you'll keep vacuuming and breathing in the dust and bacteria it's throwing into your lungs.
@winux6 жыл бұрын
This is the oldest trick in the book, if you reverse it. The kirby will make a rainbow look less effective. I've seen more valuable tests done. Like take baby powder "which is a no no on a rainbow, same with ash, drywall, sand, basically anything that floats this is another advantage to a kirby you can vac any of these according to the manufacturer. Anyway, Place it on a hardwood floor and place a rug over it and see which one sucks more threw the rug. Once the rug is removed you can literally see how much is left on the floor using a rainbow compared to a kirby unlike the other test where you can't see what's left on the carpet. Though, a rainbow is still better than most store brands. The attachments on the kirby like the hardwood mop and shampooer is a lot more well done. Another thing most people don't realize about a rainbow is you should change the water and clean it after every room. Reason being, rainbow does exhaust water vabor. You can easily test this by getting a humidity tester and let it run in purifier mode and you will see the humitdy go up in the room. Imagine dirty water vapor? YUCK! Also, It has been proven in other air purifier test not vacuum related A HEPA filter which rainbow now uses is better than water. It is true a kirby filter will get plugged over time, be less effective, and start to smell. My answer. CHANGE THE DAMN BAG! Geeze, I would much rather change a 3 dollar bag You get like 6 for 15 dollars on Amazon, that you should change at least once a month, maybe twice if you're a heavy user like any filter wether it being a air purifier or a furnance filter. Than empty water and clean a untit for every room which you should, or everytime like most people. Kirby uses the latest HEPA in its bags, you can even get one that is charcoal infused. charcoal is used.in most air purifiers because it helps with VOCs something water couldn't even do.
