I have over 3k rounds on mine. They are Chinese lasers. Do your due diligence during the warranty period. They have also updated the housing and connections quite a bit since this was made.

To be fair, IR lasers in a modern conflict will mainly be used for signalling. Active aiming is really only good against an adversary without night capability

I think most people buying these understand it is for airsoft only and it's a gamble. I have zero issue dropping $300 on one to try out. My realistic use for this is I built a SOPMOD Block II looking rifle and like the look of a PEQ without the budget or need for a real one. If the laser holds zero to put hits at 50m, that is MORE than enough for what majority of civilians will honestly ever need and use. As for a duty weapon with your life on the line, yeah you should probably get the real stuff. For people looking to hit the range, have something for that "bump in the night", I think this fills that niche. But the most impressive part, is options like this simply opens up a market for legit products. I would expect these companies to make products made for firearms but with the 'for airsoft only' clause to loophole ITAR and other US BS. It's sad China has to be the one t offer these products.... America needs to step it up.

The biggest problem I have found for the SG PEQ is that the front lenses fog up and let rain in, they get really dirty with internal film very quickly.

They completely remade the housing out of glass nylon for durability. They changed and reinforced the connections. I bought a grey market peq first, and the illuminator was so dirty it's basically unusable. I've been using SG for over 2 years. I used to DIY them by resoldering the connections and filling the housing with permatex. So I've seen all the iterations. They have made a ton of changes.

Peq-15 and similar are actually designed to use for marking targets more so than engaging targets. Absolutely a l3 is waaaaay better an investment. That being said, somo will fit the bill if you need a ir illuminator to mark targets for a fire team for training scenarios. Ukrainians have been using clone ir illuminators with significant effects in donetsk for marking russian targets. Just food for thought.

I absolutely agree with bud.. I tried the somogear ngal and didn’t even last one mag. Good thing I got a holosun ls321g as well but I won’t suggest that anyone puts a (toy) on their firearm. Learn from my mistake..

I don't believe the metal housed ngal didn't last one magazine. I have over 5k rounds on mine. If it did, they would have instantly warrantied it.

The soldering is reinforced if you buy the potted version. Which is an epoxy coat they use to protect solderings from water, some kind of vibrations and so.

Always zero your scopes and accessory before going shooting. Thats common sense 10. Even in the military they check their weapons before a mission. High end scopes and accessory can lose zero over time.

The truth is if you know what your doing you can open these up and modify them to be just as good and strong as a real peq. That may or.may not be worth the risk to some. If you don't do any kind of reinforcement inside it's not.going to last very long

But it works just fine for something that lives in the safe or truck and is going to get very little use, other than self defense/light training. I have friends that are married, single income family, with kids. A budget rifle with this and the old ghost hunter monocle is WAY better than nothing, and fits their budget. Fun fact: the actual military PEQ doesn't hold zero that great. Mine didn't in IZ in 2009 (PEQ2A).

I don’t believe half the somogear haters. I’ve seen many more people say they hold zero thousands of rounds than people that say they lose zero. I believe you’ve made a mistake in mounting, or spent 3k on a laser to punch down at people who can only get the somogear.

First thing first love your video on this subject and I will clear some things up but I just can’t come out a say something’s because KZbin will come down hard , here is why people put them on the real thing you can’t legally get the full power pew-15 easy you didn’t say what peq-15 you are referring to the civilian or military/police, what this means is that the so-mo is a work around the fact that you should not have the full power version so hopefully you understand what this is for and don’t use this for Air soft it’s extremely dangerous it’s not safe for your eyes .

Have you seen the Fords running Baja 1000? I enjoy Toyotas as their simple and reliable. But the Fords offer waaaaay nicer interiors, more towing capability, more space, more premium interior, like they're just nicer than any Toyot I've been in. The EcoBoost, understandably less reliable than ancient toyota v6. But the Coyote V8, pfffft.
