Using a Vevor Air Jack to change the oil in the 59 Chevy's 348

I also changed the oil in the 59 Bel Air's 348, using the air jack to make it easer to change the oil filter and grease the clutch crosslink.

When I had my 62 it had 283 with A/C CoolPack. It had a 7 blade fan. It sounded like an airplane when on the Interstate. I replaced it a viscous clutch fan. It was like a whole new car. I wasn’t really a Chevy guy. It is, however, the only car I wish I still had. Four-door, all white, and red interior. I paid $400 for it.

The 62 was a nice looking car. The 348 used a fan clutch on AC cars, or the tri-power engines. The non AC four barrel engines use a five blade with lots of pitch, that really move lots of air, thats why the belt squeals when throttling it.

That air jack is so cool! It raises and lowers the car effortlessly. So the last time the oil changed was done was October 9, 2023. If I remember correctly the next day was the day that Dave and I showed up at your house with our Belair's. I can't beleive that was a year ago already! I was kinda hoping that Dave, you and I could get together one more time this season. Kevin had a great idea of filming the three of us on Woodward while he was riding one of the bikes. Its too bad that couldn't have happened the last time we were together. But there's always a next time! Hey your a week early! October 17th is next Thursday! Lol. Take care my friend.

I love that air jack! It makes lifting a car effortless. Yeah, I guess I was in a Time Machine..... It was the 9th last year and the 10th this year. Maybe this coming summer we can cruise Woodward together, preferably well before the Dream Cruise. I did not get the Bel Air out on Woodward tonight, as by the time I got home from ridding motorcycles, it was well after dark.

It stores under the front of the truck easily..... It's lower than the floor jack by an inch or two.

I use the shell rotella 15w 40 disel oil in my Galaxie. I emailed them and they said it contains zinc additives. Uncle Tony's Garage did a video on it and that is how I got turned on to the idea.

Yes it has zinc..... but the estate sale oil is so cheap, I can buy the zinc additive and still be twenty bucks ahead.

No, ramps skid out when trying to run up them, plus the valance panels hit them on the Bel Air.

I don't care for ramps too much. They take up a lot of realistate when storing and then for an oil change the cars is too high leaving a nice trail of oil for the wind to catch and blow all over the place. I gave mine away.
